Our website carries our category story, product launches, customer proof, and the paths that turn interest into pipeline.\nYou’ll own both what customers see and the system behind it. You’ll ship high-craft pages and interactions, while improving the architecture, components, content models, instrumentation, and delivery workflows that let the wider team move quickly without lowering the quality bar.\nYou do not need to arrive an expert in our current stack, but you need deep web fundamentals and the judgment to improve a production codebase.\nThis is a senior individual contributor role for a builder. You’ll set direction, ship code yourself, and turn good engineering decisions into systems the whole team can use.\nThis is a full-time in person-first role (in office 4 days a week), working from our Surry Hills HQ.\nWhat you’ll do\nOwn dovetail.com. Take responsibility for the production health, technical roadmap, architecture, and ongoing development of our marketing website.\n\nShip high-craft web experiences. Turn ambitious creative and marketing ideas into responsive, accessible, production-quality pages and interactions. Protect the design intent through to the final browser render.\n\nBuild the platform behind the pages. Improve our reusable components, design tokens, typed content models, page-generation pipelines, and authoring workflows so launches, customer stories, solution pages, and campaigns can ship quickly and safely.\n\nBuild for growth. Partner with Demand Generation and Growth to improve landing pages optimized for conversation, forms, calls to action, personalization, and high-intent journeys. Implement trustworthy experiments, analytics, and lead integrations so we can see what works.\n\nMake the site fast, findable, and reliable. Improve Core Web Vitals, page weight, image delivery, accessibility, metadata, structured data, redirects, cross-browser behavior, testing, and deployment reliability.\n\nBuild an AI-powered web function. Use coding agents and AI-assisted workflows to improve implementation, testing, quality assurance, migrations, and content operations. Build internal tools and guardrails that help the wider team move faster without trading away quality.\n\nLead through the work. Set standards through code review, documentation, and clear architecture decisions. Explain tradeoffs well and raise the capability of everyone who contributes to the website.\n\nSkills and experience\nTaste. A high visual and interaction bar. You notice the typography, spacing, motion, loading behavior, and responsive details that separate a page that works from one that feels finished.\n\nAI fluency as craft. Hands-on with coding agents and modern AI tools such as Claude or Codex, with examples of workflows, prompts, and review loops you have improved over time. You use AI to move faster without outsourcing engineering judgment.\n\nA systems builder. Comfortable owning a web platform end to end, including architecture, reusable components, content systems, build tooling, deployment, observability, and the developer experience around them.\n\nStrong web engineering fundamentals. Five or more years building production web experiences, with deep experience in React and TypeScript plus strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, browser behavior, networking, and rendering.\n\nPerformance and accessibility craft. You have improved real-user performance and can build inclusive experiences using semantic HTML, keyboard access, focus behavior, responsive design, and restrained motion.\n\nHands-on in the weeds. You inspect the network trace, profile the slow interaction, debug the failed build, tune the responsive layout, validate the analytics event, and ship the fix. You do the work, not just design the architecture.\n\nCommercial judgment. You understand that a marketing website exists to communicate clearly, earn trust, and create demand. You can balance engineering quality with launch speed and know where polish materially changes the outcome.\n\nA strong cross-functional collaborator across Creative, Product Marketing, Demand Generation, Growth, Product Engineering, Data, and Revenue Operations.\n\nBias to action. You would rather ship a strong implementation, learn from real behavior, and improve the system than wait for perfect requirements.\n\nExperience with NextJS, GraphQL, Emotion, Netlify, Buildkite, Segment, HubSpot, or Salesforce is useful, but strong fundamentals and evidence of what you have built matter more than a perfect match to our stack.\nAbout you\nYou sweat the details.
