If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.\nAbout You and this Role:\nDow has an exciting job opportunity as an Analytical Technician located in Orange, Texas within Sabine River Operations (SRO).\nThe successful candidate supports manufacturing operations through laboratory analyses and evaluation of results to provide critical data to units and for quality product release. This role will include sample preparation, basic calibration, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and methods. The ideal candidate will possess broad technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a wide variety of lab related activities.\n Responsibilities\nPerform routine analyses including but not limited to Melt Index, IR, Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography, Titration, Film Extrusion, etc.\nPrepare standards including internal standards, calibration standards, & check standards\nPerform basic preventative maintenance of instruments.\nEvaluate validity of data, applying basic statistics, and interpreting results.\nMonitoring analytical systems to identify potential problems and conducting first-line troubleshooting escalating as appropriate.\nDocument, communicate and archives analytical results and calibration data.\nFollow Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) procedures and practices for work tasks.\nSuggest improvements to lab work processes and tools.\nEscalate non-routine requests to appropriate team member for follow-up.\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED is required and one of the following:A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.\n5 or more years in chemical laboratory setting. \nAssociate's degree OR 3 or more years of military experience in a specialty field.\n\nMust be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift that includes weekends, nights, & holidays as well as providing necessary overtime coverage.\nPrior experience in a plastics laboratory preferred.\nPrior experience with LIMS or other laboratory management system preferred.\nPrior experience with Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography or Gel Characterization preferred.\nA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.\nYour Skills\n Analytical Techniques: The ability to perform and understand various laboratory analyses such as Melt Index, Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), Gas Chromatography (GC), and Liquid Chromatography (LC). This skill ensures accurate measurement of material properties and chemical composition.\nInstrument Calibration & Maintenance: The capability to prepare calibration standards, perform basic preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments. This ensures equipment accuracy and reliability for consistent test results.\nData Evaluation & Interpretation: The skill to validate data, apply basic statistical methods, and interpret analytical results. This is critical for identifying trends, confirming product quality, and supporting manufacturing decisions.\n Safety & Compliance: Knowledge and adherence to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) procedures.
