The Associate Analytical Technician provides the analytical data to produce and release products and enable process and product optimization. This role supports a plant MPQ (Manage Product Quality) labs.\nResponsibilities\nPerform routine and non-routine analyses on analytical equipment such as Gas Chromatography (GC), titrations, spectrometry, etc.\nDocument, communicate, and archive results using appropriate IT software and electronic tools (such as Chromatography Data Systems (OpenLab).\nUnderstand and execute procedures, policies, and work processes such as Environmental Health &Safety, Operating Discipline Management Systems (ODMS), quality procedures, and AWP (Analytical Work Process).\nMonitor analytical systems.\nWorking in a team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with little or no direction from a manager/supervisor, the Intern is responsible for:\nBeing self-motivated with high standards of personal integrity.\nHaving a strong work ethic and being able to remain productive in an empowered team environment.\nHaving good technical skills to learn how to operate analytical equipment.\nHaving the desire to learn and grow technical skills to stay current with new automation and technology.\nBeing able to effectively work with others. Candidates must be able and are expected to effectively communicate, share information, in a respectful and professional manner.\nBeing able to demonstrate leadership behaviors - setting high standards of personal excellence and demonstrating these behaviors in work habits including safe work behaviors, work ethic, etc.\nRequired Qualifications\nA minimum of an associate's degree in a science discipline or related (at least 20 hours in chemistry). In lieu of a degree, Dow will accept 3+ years of relevant military experience.\nProficient in Microsoft products, including Outlook, Word and Excel.\nAble to work in an empowered team environment.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAble to work a 12 hour rotation shift. This is a 12 hour rotating shift position that will require some additional overtime to cover plant needs and lab team vacations/absences.\nAble to work weekends and holidays.\nNo routine travel.\nMust possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain a TWIC card.
