The purpose of this job is to provide emergency response and security services to the Houston Hub sites.\nResponsibilities:\nThe protection of company assets by: responding to fires, spills, hazardous materials incidents, medical emergencies, confined space and elevated rescues, and security incidents.\nPreparation of key emergency response equipment and systems, communication internally and externally including the activation of community notification systems; Provide effective security services for the site; \nInvestigating and documenting emergencies and security incidents.\nCoverage for other positions within the team as needed\nAbility to think clearly and calmly under stress.\nAble to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems within the Emergency Services and Security (ES&S) area of responsibility. \nBe proficient in computers to perform job tasks.\nAble to work with independently with minimal supervision within an empowered team environment.\nWilling to adhere to all safety standards, including the smoke free and drug-free workplace policy. \nRequired Qualifications:\nA minimum of High School diploma or equivalent is required.\n2+ years' experience in industrial emergency response and medical services or other related experience\nNational or State certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or willing to obtained within a year after start date\nHold or be willing to obtain HazMat Technician certification within a year after start date\nWilling and able to work a 12-hour rotating shift position. \nAble to work overtime as needed.\nA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nParticipation on an Emergency Response Team with industrial fire response training\n2+ years' experience in process operations.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAble to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:\nLift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.\nFrequent bending, reaching, and lifting.\nStand 50% of the time.\nWalk for extended periods of time.\nWork at heights, climb stairs and ladders.\nWork in tight and closed in spaces.\nWear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator and SCBA.\nWork in an area of intense or continuous noise.\nWork in an area with hazardous materials.\nPhysical ability to lift hoses, climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs, bolt flanges, operate valves, fire pumps and other emergency equipment and vehicles as part of the job.\nThis role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs. (This typically accommodates individuals who weigh 285 or less)\n\nSkills:\nCommunication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.\nDecision-Making: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions as priorities shift.\nMultitasking: Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.\nOrganizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work: Ability to manage day-to-day work with limited guidance.\nRisk Awareness: Ability to identify, evaluate, and prioritize risks, then coordinate resources to minimize, monitor, and mitigate potential impacts.\nSafety Awareness: Strong safety mindset and willingness to learn.\nAdditional Notes:\nApplicants must be medically approved to respond to emergencies.\nThe Dow Chemical Company does not offer relocation assistance for this position.
