If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.\nAbout you and this role\nDow has an exciting opportunity for aJunior Software Developer/Security Administrator for the Legal Department located inMidland, MI!\nIn this role, you will work closely with legal professionals, business stakeholders, and IT teams to help design and implement software applications, automate business processes, and analyze data to support informed decision-making. This role offers an excellent opportunity to build technical expertise while contributing to innovative solutions that enable the legal team to better serve the organization.\nResponsibilities\nDevelopment, maintenance, and support of Legal Department applications, including:\nWork with senior developers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and implement solutions. \nTroubleshoot application, database, workflow, and integration issues. \nDevelop enhancements and bug fixes using C#, .NET, SQL, and related technologies. \nAssist in modernizing legacy applications using a combination of the .NET stack and the Microsoft Power Platform. \nCarefully validate application changes, data updates, queries, integrations, and workflow logic before deployment. \nParticipate in testing, documentation, and deployment activities. \nLearn Dow Legal’s systems, terminology, processes, and data requirements. \nBuild enough legal and business-domain knowledge to understand the purpose and impact of the supported applications. \nSecurity administration for Legal applications, including Operational Support and Reporting & Monitoring:\nAct as primary support contact for security-related incidents and requests. \nTroubleshoot access issues for users. \nCoordinate with IT infrastructure, IAM (Identity and Access Management), cybersecurity, and application support teams. \nCreate and update operational work instructions. \nUnderstanding of retention, records management, and legal hold concepts. \nMonitor security-related system events. \nTrack access changes and privileged activities. \nProduce audit, compliance, and user-access reports. \nIdentify governance gaps and process improvement opportunities. \nRequired Qualifications\nA minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.\nA minimum of a bachelor’s degree OR relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking. In lieu of a degree or relevant military equivalent, 8+ years of relevant working experience can be considered. \nA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. \nPreferred Qualifications\nA degree discipline in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.\nUnderstanding of basic software development practices, including requirement gathering, debugging, testing, and documentation. \nFoundational experience with the Microsoft .NET ecosystem, including C# and ASP.NET. \nExperience with a modern database management system such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL. \nWorking knowledge of SQL and basic database concepts. \nFamiliarity with Git-based source control. \nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar coding assistants, including the ability to use these tools responsibly to accelerate development, troubleshoot issues, and improve code quality. \nExposure to the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and related technologies. \nExposure to modern frontend technologies like Angular or Blazor. \nBasic understanding of REST APIs and application integrations. \nExposure to cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure. \nFamiliarity with authentication, authorization, and role-based access concepts. \nExposure to enterprise application development or application support. \nSkills\nAnalytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nAdaptability: Ability to learn new technologies and business processes. \nCommunication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. \nStakeholder Management: Ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nSelf-Motivation: Interest in learning how legal departments operate and how technology supports attorneys, paralegals, legal operations teams, and other legal professionals. \nStrong attention to detail. \nAdditional Notes\nRelocation assistance is not available for this position.\nBenefits - What Dow offers you\nWe invest in you. \nDow invests in total rewards programs to help you manage all aspects of you: your pay, your health, your life, your future, and your career.
