If you’re looking for a challenge and meaningful role, you’re in the right place.\nAbout this role\nDow has an opportunity for a Solution Specialist located in Midland, MI or Houston, TX.\nThis role:\nDesigns, develops, and supports solutions and processes to meet business needs and requirements.\nApplies expanded conceptual knowledge in Information Systems as well as knowledge of the company, key business drivers, and processes in order to develop solutions.\nIn this role, you will require understanding of key business drivers for your discipline and function. You will need to be able to expand conceptual and working knowledge related to your discipline or functional area. You are expected to provide informal guidance to new team members and be able to explain complex information to others.\nIt is your responsibility to use technical experience, established practices, and personal judgement to analyze and resolve straightforward problems. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work and your team’s work and requires that you work within established guidelines and policies.\nResponsibilities\nGathers and analyzes business requirements for assigned functional and technical areas using expanded conceptual and practical knowledge\nWorks closely with business process teams, technical teams and other stakeholders to design and build objects which meet requirements\nCommunicates effectively both within the team and with external stakeholders (e.g. businesses and technical counterparts)\nCommunicates status, metrics, risks, and issues on a timely basis\nApplies knowledge and experience in software development methodologies in order to support work processes\nDocuments detailed designs\nBuilds, tests and implements application objects\nAssists with issue resolution\nHelps ensure that functional and technical designs meet business requirements, conform to Dow architecture standards, and optimize productivity and long-term product/system vision\nQM Domain-Specific Responsibilities\nSupport SAP Quality Management (QM) solutions that enable quality processes across global manufacturing operations\nPartner with quality business process experts and stakeholders to understand business requirements and help translate them into scalable and supportable technology solutions\nLead functional analysis, solution design, testing, deployment, and support activities for SAP QM enhancements and projects\nSupport quality execution processes by addressing application issues related to inspection lots, results recording, usage decisions, quality notifications, quality reporting, and batch-related quality management\nAnalyze and resolve application, process, data, and integration issues by applying structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis approaches in collaboration with business and technical teams\nSupport and contribute to project delivery, system upgrades, testing cycles, and deployments impacting quality management applications\nDevelop and maintain functional specifications, testing strategies, support procedures, and knowledge transfer materials to improve solution clarity and supportability\nMonitor and support interfaces between SAP Quality Management (QM) solutions and integrated applications to ensure reliable data flow and business continuity\nCollaborate with business process experts, developers, architects, and support teams to improve application reliability, usability, and supportability\nParticipate in incident management, problem management, and continuous improvement initiatives supporting a 24x7 manufacturing environment\nProvide knowledge transfer and functional guidance to junior team members and support resources\nQM Domain-Specific Skills\nStrong understanding of manufacturing quality management processes and how technology solutions support end-to-end quality execution in global manufacturing environments\nProven experience supporting SAP Quality Management (QM) solutions and related manufacturing applications in a production support and delivery environment\nDeep understanding of inspection processing, results recording, usage decisions, quality notifications, batch quality management, and quality reporting concepts\nAbility to translate business requirements into functional solution designs and support delivery of scalable and supportable application enhancements\nExperience supporting application lifecycle activities including incident management, testing, defect resolution, root cause analysis, and deployment activities\nExperience troubleshooting and resolving application, data, and integration issues across SAP and connected enterprise systems\nStrong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across quality, manufacturing, and IT teams\nStrong communication and documentation skills, including development of functional specifications, testing strategies, and support procedures\nDemonstrated ability to lead knowledge transfer activities and provide guidance to junior analysts\nQualifications\nA minimum of a bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant or 5 years relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.\n5+ years of relevant experience\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA Quality Management solutions within a production support and delivery model\nExperience supporting or enhancing SAP and non-SAP quality and manufacturing applications, including custom solutions and integrated enterprise systems\nExperience with application support activities in a production environment, including issue triage, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and defect resolution\nStrong familiarity with system integrations, data flows, and enterprise application landscapes within quality and manufacturing environments\nExperience contributing to automation, analytics, AI-enabled solutions, or continuous improvement initiatives supporting quality or manufacturing operations\nYour Skills\n Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Knowledge of the end-to-end software development process, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support. Aligns directly with experience in software development, application support, and Agile methodologies.\nProactive Problem Solving: The ability to identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues before they become larger problems. Supports the requirement for strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\n Information Technology (IT): Broad understanding of technology infrastructure, software applications, systems, and support practices. Forms the foundation for software development and application support responsibilities.\nCloud Computing: Experience with cloud-based platforms, services, and modern development environments. Complements source control, Azure DevOps, application development, and solutions delivery activities commonly used in enterprise environments.\nCommunication: The ability to effectively convey technical and business information through verbal and written interactions with stakeholders, users, and development teams.
