Project engineers understand design intent and apply the mechanics of how things come together in the field to collaborate effectively with the project team, architect, vendors, subs, suppliers, and consultants. This position is dynamic, creative, and whenever possible, site-based, to ensure projects are executed at the highest levels of quality and craftsmanship. Travel to Northeast-based job sites is required; mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.\nWHAT YOU’LL DO\nAs a project engineer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the entire construction project lifecycle from pre- to post-construction, including:\nCollaborating with project manager and superintendent to build according to plan and specifications\nContributing to estimating efforts: take-offs, coordinate sub bids, materials pricing\nMaintaining positive relationships and clearly communicating with clients, partners, designers, field team, and subcontractors\nReading and managing plans, specifications, contracts, purchase orders, shop drawings, submittals, lien releases, RFI logs, and all other project related documents\nIssuing RFPs, distributing plans and contract documents\nCreating scope of work for subs and vendors for RFPs and Subcontractor Agreements\nConducting subcontractor site walk-throughs to review plans and specs prior to pricing\nAssessing data from subcontractor proposals: review, negotiate, summarize\nWriting and managing Subcontractor Agreements ensuring all necessary elements are present\nMaintaining punch list with architect and build team\nReceiving, review, and code applications for payment with project manager\nPartnering with the project manager to assure payment is received from owner and paid out to subcontractors\nMaintaining owner’s manual (product information, warranties, as-built drawings, etc.) and handling project close out requirements\nWorking with superintendent to maintain job site quality control\nBeing a positive advocate for safety in action and attitude; reinforcing awareness to reduce the risk of injury or citations\nWHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED\nTo be successful as a Dowbuilt project engineer, you’ll need:\n3+ years of construction management experience, high-end residential highly preferred\nConstruction Management degree, or similar education plus experience\nAbility to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications\nExcellent communication, team-building skills and detail follow through\nKnowledge of technical construction terms and experience with both traditional and new materials\nProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, BlueBeam\nFamiliarity with web-based applications such as Slack, Asana, SmartSheet, and Airtable is highly preferred\nSage 300 CRE familiarity is preferred, but not required\nUS Work Authorization\nTravel to Northeast-based job sites is required; mileage and travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.\nWHAT WE OFFER\nWe are a fun, easygoing bunch of professionals who take a lot of pride in the work we do.
