Your responsibilities can be varied and challenging, as well as professionally rewarding.\nThe Maritime Security Guard’s key responsibility is to ensure access to the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal on ship days is controlled and limited to authorized persons only and that these persons are displaying the correct accreditation.\nWe are looking for someone that is flexible with open availability to work and wants to work, especially during our busiest periods between October and April.\nWhat You’ll Do (key responsibilities)\nThis role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:\nProvide security services across the Terminal and assist in developing measures to minimise the exposure to security risk\n\nCurb side management\n\nAccess control\n\nGatehouse operations\n\nAsset protection\n\nCompliance checks\n\nEmergency and first aid response as required\n\nTraffic control\n\nControl room operations (as required)\n\nTasks as required by PBPL operations\n\nComply with all Spotless/Downer policies and SOPs\n\nWhat You’ll Bring (experience required)\nCurrent Queensland Security License Class 1\n\nFirst Aid and CPR HLTAID011/009\n\nMaritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or ability to obtain\n\nThe ability to work autonomously or as part of a team\n\nExcellent communication and customer service skills\n\nExceptional personal presentation and professional conduct\n\nPrevious Maritime Security Guard / Screening experience highly regarded, but not essential\n\nThe ideal candidate will have proven experience in security preferably in an airport, terminal setting with screening as highly regarded\n\nMore than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients.\n**Please note, as a prerequisite for this role candidates will be required to complete work rights check, fill out a Health Declaration Form and provide 2 professional references.\nWhy Downer?\nAt Downer, we plan, create, and sustain essential public services across Australia and New Zealand.
