Cloud, Access & Security Team Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Downer’s cloud networking capability, providing technical leadership across Azure and AWS networking, hybrid connectivity, DNS, routing, segmentation, cloud observability, data centre networks and service reliability.\nWorking closely with architecture, cyber security, service management, project delivery teams and strategic technology partners, you will help drive modern engineering practices, automation, operational excellence and continuous improvement across our cloud network services.\nOperating within a product-led DevOps model, you will contribute across the full technology lifecycle including strategy, architecture, design, implementation, optimisation and operational support.\nAbout the Role\nIn this role you will:\nLead the design, engineering and lifecycle management of Azure, AWS and hybrid cloud networking services.\nLead the design, engineering and lifecycle management of data centre networks.\nDevelop and maintain networking standards, patterns, reference architectures and governance frameworks.\nDrive improvements in cloud connectivity, network segmentation, routing, resilience, observability and service reliability.\nProvide senior technical leadership for hybrid connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments.\nAct as the senior escalation point for complex cloud networking, DNS, routing and connectivity incidents.\nChampion AIOps capability, automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps-aligned engineering practices.\nPartner with Cyber Security, Architecture and operational teams to ensure secure, scalable and compliant network solutions.\nLead technical engagement with cloud providers, managed service partners, technology vendors and connectivity providers.\nSupport cloud transformation initiatives, application migrations and landing zone improvements.\nProvide technical guidance across cloud and network domains.\nThis is a highly visible role where you will influence technical strategy while ensuring the stability, security and performance of critical enterprise networking services.\nOur Ideal Candidate\nYou are a technically strong and commercially aware cloud networking professional who enjoys solving complex problems and influencing outcomes across multiple technology teams.\nYou bring a balance of strategic thinking, engineering excellence and operational leadership, with the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nWhat You Will Bring\nTertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline ideal.\nMicrosoft Azure networking and/or cloud infrastructure certifications.\nStrong experience designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-scale Azure networking environments.\nDemonstrated experience with hybrid cloud connectivity, network integration, cloud routing and segmentation.\n10+ years' experience in enterprise networking, cloud networking or data centre network engineering roles.\nExperience supporting cloud adoption, migration and transformation programs.\nStrong troubleshooting skills across DNS, routing, connectivity, traffic flows and cloud network services.\nExperience operating within DevOps, automation and Infrastructure as Code environments.\nStrong stakeholder management skills with experience working across architecture, cyber security, infrastructure and business teams.\nDesirable\nAWS networking certifications and experience.\nData centre networking experience.\nExperience with cloud observability, automation and service reliability engineering practices.\nITIL or service management qualifications.\nExposure to AIOps, intelligent monitoring and
