Downer is looking for a driven Contracts Administrator to support our Queensland Maintenance & ITS business with high-quality commercial and contract expertise. Based at Brisbane Airport, this permanent opportunity will see you working with a team focused on growth, partnering closely with delivery leaders, and taking ownership of end-to-end contract administration from pre-contract activities through to successful project outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the development of procurement strategies, prepare and evaluate supplier/subcontractor RFQs, and help negotiate commercial terms that set projects up for success.\nOwn the preparation and management of contract documentation, including variations, extensions of time (EOTs) and claims, while maintaining robust registers and ensuring contractual compliance.\nContribute to project handovers, develop commercial management plans, and provide practical commercial advice that helps delivery teams perform at their best throughout the contract lifecycle.\nProactively identify and assess risks and claims, work with legal and commercial stakeholders on resolution strategies, and support dispute resolution to protect project outcomes.\nBuild strong, collaborative relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders (clients and subcontractors), keeping communication clear and momentum strong across every phase of delivery.\nWhat you’ll bring\nMinimum 3 years experience as a Contract Administrator (or a similar commercial/contract role).\nA strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, with confidence navigating the commercial and legal factors that influence project delivery.\nProven experience managing post-contract award deliverables, ensuring requirements are captured, tracked and closed out.\n\nExperience in construction programming and scheduling, building and maintaining project programmes, tracking progress, and producing clear updates to support on-time delivery.\n\nStrong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to bring others along to achieve the right outcome.\n\nWell-developed analytical, planning and prioritisation skills.\nA track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.\nA collaborative approach, you communicate openly, work well in teams, and look for smarter ways to improve how we deliver.\nDowner is a company that believes people are our greatest asset.
