{"id":3791430,"url":"https://alion.io/job/downer-group-deployment-engineer-5","title":"Deployment Engineer","company":{"id":2169700,"name":"Downer Group","domain":"downergroup.co.nz","url":"https://alion.io/company/downergroup","size_band":"5000+","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Oracle","truth_index":{"grade":"A","score":88,"open_postings":12,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.5,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":30,"computed_at":"2026-11-05T05:54:30Z"}},"role":"DevOps","role_family":"DevOps","seniority":"senior","employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Australia"],"countries":["AU"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":5,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-11-05T03:34:21Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-11-05","last_verified_at":"2026-11-06T00:21:31Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":1,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":1},"description":"Deployment Engineer Wireless\nThe opportunity\nDowner is seeking an experienced Deployment Engineer Wireless to join our Telecommunications team and support the delivery of large scale wireless telecommunications projects.\nWorking as part of a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers and project delivery professionals, you will play an important role in taking projects from design through to construction, integration and completion.\nYou will act as a key link between design and construction, helping ensure designs are constructible, materials and permits are ready, and field teams have what they need to deliver safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.\nKey responsibilities include:\nCoordinating wireless telecommunications projects across design, construction and integration activities\nReviewing For Construction drawings and undertaking constructability reviews\nPreparing scopes of work and bills of materials for construction partners\nCoordinating material requirements, site access, inductions, inspections and construction start dates\nWorking closely with field teams to resolve design and construction issues\nSupporting troubleshooting, commissioning and integration activities\nManaging and coordinating subcontractors and construction partners\nReviewing construction packs and completion documentation\nMonitoring project progress and providing accurate reporting to the Deployment Manager\nSupporting quality assurance and maintaining high standards of safety and compliance throughout delivery\nWhat we’re looking for\nYou will bring strong wireless telecommunications experience combined with practical knowledge of construction and field delivery.\nIdeally, you will have:\nA tertiary qualification in Telecommunications Engineering, Construction or a related discipline\nAt least five years of experience as a Deployment Engineer or Project Engineer on large scale wireless telecommunications projects\nDemonstrated experience across the design, construction and integration of Australian telecommunications carrier networks, particularly Telstra\nStrong knowledge of 4G and 5G equipment including BTS, RRUs, antenna and feeder systems\nExperience with Ericsson equipment, which is mandatory for this position\nKnowledge of Telstra construction standards\nExperience interpreting For Construction drawings and producing scopes of work and bills of materials\nUnderstanding of site commissioning, integration and SAED processes\nExperience managing subcontractors and contractor workforces\nTelecommunications quality assurance experience\nUnderstanding of installation standards for hybrid cables, fibre, coax and copper\nKnowledge of construction within rail corridors, mining or defence environments would be advantageous but is not essential\nYou will also be comfortable working with multiple stakeholders, managing changing priorities and deadlines, and taking a practical and collaborative approach to resolving issues throughout project delivery.\nWhat we offer\nAt Downer, we plan, create and sustain.
