This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of industrial electrical and instrumentation projects, supporting critical infrastructure and delivering high-quality outcomes.\nIn this hands-on role, you'll undertake planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and installations across industrial electrical and instrumentation systems. You'll work both independently and as part of a team, contributing to the growth of our instrumentation capability while delivering exceptional service and technical expertise.\nKey responsibilities include:\n· Carrying out maintenance, repairs, and installation of industrial electrical and instrumentation assets.\n· Supporting planned and reactive electrical works to meet client and contract requirements.\n· Identifying and resolving electrical faults while proactively seeking opportunities for improvement.\n· Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.\n· Preparing and maintaining accurate records, reports, testing documentation, and as-built drawings.\n· Building strong relationships with clients and identifying opportunities for additional works.\n· Mentoring apprentices and supporting their development and training.\n· Travelling as required to support project and maintenance activities.\n· Participating in after-hours support and on-call activities when required.\nThis role is ideal for an electrician who enjoys problem-solving and delivering practical solutions across a variety of industrial environments.\nNgā pūkenga matua | What We're Looking For\nElectricians who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.\nYou'll bring:\n· A New Zealand Registered Electrician qualification with a current EWRB Practising Licence.\n· Industrial experience is welcome but not essential. We encourage registered electricians from residential or commercial backgrounds who are keen to build their industrial experience to apply.\n· Knowledge of industrial instrumentation systems is desirable, but training and development will be provided.\n· Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\n· The ability to plan, organise, and complete work with minimal supervision.\n· Experience working directly with clients and maintaining positive relationships.\n· Strong computer literacy and the ability to complete digital job records and reporting.\n· A proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.\n· Leadership capability, including the ability to mentor apprentices and support team development.\n· A full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.\n· A willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to the growth of our instrumentation capability.\nNgā Painga o te Mahi ki Downer | What We Offer\nAt Downer, our people are the key to our success.
