You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients while maintaining Downer's commitment to Zero Harm.\nWe are also open to speaking with registered electricians who are ready to take the next step in their career and develop into an HV Electrician through supported training and practical on-the-job experience.\nKey responsibilities include:\nInstallation, maintenance, and repair of substations, transformers, switchgear, regulators, and associated network equipment\nFault finding, diagnosis, and rectification across electricity distribution network assets\nSupporting construction and maintenance activities to meet client and operational requirements\nWorking collaboratively with supervisors, project teams, and clients to deliver successful outcomes\nAssisting with job planning, estimating resources, and identifying the materials and equipment required for work programmes\nMaintaining accurate documentation, reports, and records of completed work\nEnsuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard\nParticipating in ongoing training and development to build competencies and technical expertise\nBuilding and maintaining positive relationships with clients, customers, and stakeholders\nThis role is ideal for an experienced HV professional who enjoys fault finding, network maintenance, and working as part of a high-performing team supporting critical infrastructure.\nNgā pūkenga matua | What We're Looking For\nWe're looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, puts safety first, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment.\nYou'll bring:\nA relevant electrical trade qualification\nCurrent New Zealand electrical registration and practising licence\nIndustry experience within electricity distribution, network maintenance, or construction environments\nStrong knowledge of substation equipment and maintenance practices\nExperience using electrical testing equipment, systems, and procedures\nUnderground and overhead network construction experience (preferred)\nStrong fault-finding and problem-solving capability\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nA current driver's licence\nA strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement\nThe physical capability to undertake hands-on field work in a variety of conditions. \nNgā Painga o te Mahi ki Downer | What We Offer\nAt Downer, our people are the key to our success.
