This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll oversee field crews, coordinate resources, support fault response activities, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.\nKey responsibilities include:\nLeading transmission maintenance crews and field operations\nPlanning and scheduling labour, equipment, and materials\nCoordinating preventative and corrective maintenance activities\nSupporting fault response and outage work\nManaging work orders, documentation, and reporting requirements\nBuilding strong relationships with clients and stakeholders\nPromoting Downer's Zero Harm culture and safety standards\nCoaching and developing team members to achieve strong operational outcomes.\nNgā pūkenga matua | What We're Looking For\nWe're looking for a strong people leader with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service.\nYou'll bring:\nRegistered Electrician status with a current practising licence\nRelevant electrical trade qualification (Level 4 or equivalent)\nCurrent Full Class 1 driver's licence\nExperience leading electrical maintenance or transmission crews\nKnowledge of electrical industry regulations and safe work practices\nExperience working within transmission, generation, or high-voltage substation environments\nStrong planning, problem-solving, and organisational skills\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilities\nSound computer skills, including Microsoft Office\nA passion for mentoring and developing others. \nThe following would be advantageous but not essential:\nTranspower qualifications including Works Management, Permit Recipient or Substation Maintainer\nPrevious transmission substation maintenance experience\nTranspower Technical Expert - Substation Maintainer certification. \nNgā Painga o te Mahi ki Downer | What We Offer\nOur purpose is to enable communities to thrive, driven by your passion and dedication.
