This influential role brings together sales, business development, strategic customer engagement, estimating and technical solution development to secure profitable work and expand our market presence.\nYou will build a strong opportunity pipeline, develop long-term customer partnerships and work closely with Engineering, Estimating, Commercial and Project Delivery teams to translate customer needs into safe, practical and commercially competitive manufacturing solutions.\nThis role will also:\nDevelop and execute the Manufacturing sales and business development strategy across priority markets \nIdentify, qualify and convert new and existing opportunities while maintaining disciplined account plans, forecasts and a robust sales pipeline\nBuild trusted relationships with key customers, understand future demand and act as the senior technical and commercial interface during opportunity development\nLead opportunity qualification, bid strategy, estimating and tender planning to deliver accurate, competitive and commercially robust submissions\nWork with Engineering, Design and Estimating teams to develop safe, compliant, manufacturable and customer-focused solutions\nMonitor market trends and identify new products, services, sectors, partnerships and long-term growth opportunities\nSupport commercial negotiations, risk reviews, business cases, budgeting and strategic planning\nLead, coach and develop sales, estimating, design and technical services capability, fostering strong collaboration with operations and delivery teams\nA qualification in Engineering, Electrical Trade, Business, Sales or a related discipline \nAt least seven years of experience in technical sales, business development, commercial or operational leadership roles\nDemonstrated success securing major projects and building strategic customer relationships\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing, engineering, electrical infrastructure or industrial service environments\nCommercial negotiation, contract management, tendering and opportunity governance experience\nThe ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary technical and commercial teams\nStrong stakeholder engagement, presentation and written and verbal communication skills\nA current Driver Licence and flexibility to travel regularly across Australia\nExperience with switch rooms, MCCs, E-Houses, skid packages or industrial manufacturing, together with exposure to the Energy, Utilities, Water, Mining or Infrastructure sectors\nWhat we are looking for\nFlexible working environment\nOpportunity for career growth with structured frameworks and supportive-inclusive team \nCompetitive Salary and Employee Benefits \nValued and respected position, with supportive and experienced team\nWork for a major ASX-listed company \nWhat we offer\nAbout Energy & Utilities… Downer's Energy & Utilities business unit is an integrated trans-Tasman team, providing services and solutions that connect communities to essential networks and infrastructure.
