You'll work alongside experienced operators and technicians carrying out maintenance, repairs and emergency response work across the network.\nOperating within a 24/7 maintenance contract, you'll be part of a team that responds to water main bursts, leaks, customer faults and planned maintenance activities. If you enjoy practical work, problem-solving and making a real difference in the community, this could be the role for you.\nA typical day starts with a crew pre-start and vehicle checks before heading out to site. From there, you'll assist with excavation, maintenance and repairs, operate plant and equipment, help maintain safe work sites and complete job records electronically.\nThis role requires flexibility to work rotating day and afternoon shifts, along with participation in an on-call roster to support emergency response and after-hours works.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nCarry out planned and reactive maintenance across South East Water assets.\nAssist with repairs to water mains, services, valves and hydrants.\nRespond to emergency repairs and customer faults across the network.\nComplete excavation, reinstatement and site clean-up activities.\nSafely operate tools, equipment and plant.\nRecord completed works, photos and job details using electronic systems.\nFollow all safety, quality and environmental requirements.\nWork closely with your crew to deliver quality outcomes for customers.\nABOUT YOU\nExperience in sewer maintenance, wastewater services or drainage operations.\nSkilled in operating high-pressure jetting equipment, vacuum systems and combination jet/vac trucks.\nExperience with hydro excavation, NDD, wet well cleaning, PCB cleaning and confined space work is highly regarded.\nStrong focus on safety and doing the job right first time.\nReliable, hardworking and able to work well within a team environment.\nComfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.\nGood problem-solving skills and ability to work independently when required.\nWillingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and participate in an on-call roster.\nABOUT ENERGY & UTILITIES\nAt Downer, we help keep essential services running for communities across Australia and New Zealand.
