This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional looking to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic operational environment. The Business Controller will be responsible for financial controlling activities for the site, providing insightful financial support, performance analysis, and commercial guidance. Working closely with operational, commercial, and customer teams, this role will help drive financial performance, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and support key business objectives.\nHow you will contribute\nLead the month-end close process, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with corporate policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards.\nPrepare and present detailed financial performance analysis, including P&L and balance sheet reviews, clearly explaining key variances, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.\nDevelop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, incorporating business metrics, volume assumptions, and profitability targets.\nProduce daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting and performance dashboards, providing actionable insights to support operational decision-making.\nWork closely with Plant Management, Operations, Engineering, Account Management, and Business Development teams to support financial performance and business decisions.\nBuild and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted finance partner to support account management, contract negotiations, and long-term business growth.\nPrepare and deliver customer budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment between contractual commitments, operational requirements, customer expectations, and financial objectives.\nOwn customer invoicing and revenue reporting, ensuring billing accuracy and maintaining financial integrity across assigned accounts.\nCoordinate weekly customer performance reviews and maintain commercial trackers, ensuring all chargeable activities are accurately captured and reported.\nMonitor financial performance against budgets and customer contracts, providing analysis to support new business, contract renewals, and operational changes.\nSupport customer contract renewals by providing financial analysis for pricing reviews and commercial discussions.\nSupport capital investment decisions by tracking project expenditure and maintaining capital expenditure budgets and forecasts.\nProvide financial analysis to Procurement and Operations on supplier cost increases and contract renewals.\nMonitor accounts receivable and support the timely resolution of invoicing and payment issues.\nPartner with Business Unit and Plant Leadership teams to identify improvement opportunities and ensure corrective actions are implemented and tracked.\nCollaborate with other Business Controllers to ensure consistent processes, reporting standards, financial controls, and best practice across sites.\nContribute to wider Finance projects and ad-hoc activities as required.\nAct as an ambassador for DP World, demonstrating our values, principles, and culture while maintaining high standards of safety, integrity, and ethical conduct.\nWhat you will bring\nFully or partly qualified CIMA/ACCA, or a Bachelor’s degree in Finance & Accounting.\nMinimum of 2 years’ experience in an operationally focused finance role.\nStrong financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling skills.\nExperience using SAP and EBPCS is desirable but not essential.\nUnderstanding of IFRS and local GAAP reporting requirements is advantageous.\nExperience within a logistics or supply chain environment is beneficial.\nCustomer-facing experience with strong stakeholder management skills.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly and confidently to stakeholders at all levels.\nStrong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.\nExcellent attention to detail and a structured approach to managing financial information and processes.\nAbility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver against deadlines.\nStrong collaboration skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across operational, commercial, finance, and wider business teams.\nA proactive, results-focused approach with a positive “can do” attitude.\nAbility to handle sensitive and confidential company information with discretion.\nCompensation\nDP World offers exciting and challenging roles within a growing international organization.
