Acting as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, the Business Controller will own financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management, while identifying opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, and customer outcomes. The successful candidate will work closely with both site and regional leadership teams, combining strong financial expertise with commercial awareness to influence business performance and support sustainable growth. Our ideal candidate will be CIMA qualified with exprience in a similar role.\nLocation: Coventry and Hinckley/Hybrid\nContract: Permanent\nHow you will contribute\nLead the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of site financial performance.\nOwn site P&L reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing clear commentary and actionable insights.\nMaintain robust financial controls, including balance sheet management, customer billing oversight, and capital expenditure governance.\nPartner with site and regional operational leaders to translate operational and customer data into meaningful business insights.\nIdentify productivity, cost improvement, and operational efficiency opportunities that support business performance.\nSupport customer contract renewals, pricing reviews, and supplier negotiations through robust financial analysis.\nProactively identify financial risks, opportunities, and process improvements to strengthen profitability and contract performance.\nPrepare and present financial performance reports to key stakeholders, supporting informed decision-making across the business.\nLead, coach, and develop a direct report, ensuring clear objectives, engagement, and high performance.\nSupport both internal and external audit activities, ensuring compliance with financial and governance standards.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, HR, Procurement, Pricing, and PMO to deliver business objectives.\nPromote DP World values, principles, safety culture, and commitment to ethical business practices in all activities.\nWhat you will bringQualifications\nCIMA qualified or equivalent recognised accounting qualification.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong IT literacy.\nExperience\nMinimum of 3 years' experience in a similar finance or business controlling role.\nExperience managing month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.\nExperience partnering with operational stakeholders to deliver commercial insight and performance improvements.\nExperience supporting customer contracts, pricing activities, and commercial decision-making.\nLogistics, supply chain, or warehousing sector experience would be advantageous but is not essential.\nSAP experience would be beneficial.\nExperience supporting internal and external audit requirements.\nSkills\nStrong financial analysis, reporting, and business partnering capabilities.\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.\nStrong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.\nHighly analytical with exceptional critical thinking skills.\nDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.\nEffective collaborator, capable of working independently and across diverse teams.\nProfessional approach to handling confidential and sensitive information.\nWillingness to travel and work on-site in Coventry a minimum of three days per week, with occasional travel to the finance office in Hinckley.\nEligibility to work in the UK.\nCompensation\nDP World offers exciting and challenging roles within a growing international organisation.
