DP World is looking for a Document Writer based at our Port Botany Terminal who enjoys turning complex information into clear, practical, and easy-to-use documentation. This is a 2-year Max term contract supporting Engineering, HSE, and Operations teams on optimisation projects, working closely with stakeholders across the business. You will create and maintain documents that support day-to-day operations, compliance requirements, and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities -

  • Create high-quality documentation including policies, procedures, work instructions, manuals, reports, templates, guides, training materials, and operational documents.
  • Translate complex information into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for different audiences.
  • Ensure all documentation aligns with organisational standards, branding, terminology, and formatting requirements.
  • Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to gather, validate, and document accurate information.
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions to capture processes and requirements.
  • Maintain document version control, registers, and document management systems.
  • Ensure documentation complies with governance, regulatory, legal, and audit requirements.
  • Monitor and manage document review cycles to keep content current and accurate.
  • Support document retention, archiving, and disposal in line with policy requirements.
  • Review and edit documentation for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and usability.
  • Identify and implement improvements to documentation standards, templates, and processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through better documentation practices.
  • Organise and maintain accessible document repositories and knowledge libraries.
  • Support onboarding and training by providing clear, usable documentation and resources.
  • Ensure documentation is easy to find, understand, and use across the organisation.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Qualification in Business, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems
  • Training in Technical Writing, Quality, Project Management, or ISO/compliance frameworks is highly desirable.
  • Experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, SOPs, and operational documentation
  • Experience working with SMEs and stakeholders to gather, clarify, and translate information
  • Strong experience reviewing, editing, and improving professional documentation
  • Experience in fast-paced environments managing multiple priorities
  • Experience in logistics, ports, mining, transport, or other industrial environments, particularly with safety, compliance, and audit documentation, is highly desirable
  • Ability to write clear, practical documentation (SOPs, procedures, manuals, work instructions)
  • Ability to simplify complex information into clear, usable content
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent proofreading and editing skills
  • Understanding of document control, versioning, and records management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
