This role is crucial for ensuring the availability and reliability of our large-scale equipment, which is essential for the terminal's efficient operations.\nResponsibilities include troubleshooting motors, inverter drives, and using programmable logic controllers. Electrical Technicians play a vital role in maintaining the functionality and reliability of all on-site equipment. We are looking for candidates with experience in the manufacturing, maritime, and industrial sectors, particularly those who have worked with heavy plant equipment or machinery.\nNOTE: The shift is as follows\nWe are a 24/7 operation this role will be Day and Night shifts, working 12 hours at a time (6-6 AM and PM). The good news is you get every other weekend off!\nWorking 2 Days, 2 Days Off, 3 Nights, 2 Days off, 2 Days, 3 Days off. This then rotates and repeats.\nHow Will You Contribute\nCompetently carry out preventive maintenance and repair works, in accordance with company safety standards and to minimise equipment downtime. (This may involve mechanical duties)\nConduct fault finding on assets using PLC to identify and remedy repair issues effectively\nCollect data/information while carrying out work on any asset and provide to the Engineering Planners\nManage and supervise contractors during delivery and commissioning of equipment or while working on any asset, ensuring safe working practices are followed.\nTo support the development, improvement and updating of method statements and risk assessments for any preventive maintenance or repairs carried out on our Automated Stacking Cranes.\nLead by example and encourage others to implement and improve safe working procedures and practices.\nWork closely with the stores and Asset Managers to maintain inventory and stock levels.\nContinuously innovate and improve to ensure optimal productivity and equipment performance.\nWhat You Will Bring\nNational Qualifications Framework - Minimum Level 3 Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds etc.) Professional qualification in electrical discipline.\nAt least 3 years experience within a electrical technician role\nTrouble shooting and fault diagnostic of electrical and control circuits\nExperience working on heavy plant/manufacturing equipment is essential.\nUnderstanding of and use of PLC systems to aid effective fault finding \nPLC programming is not essential; however, a basic understanding will be an advantage.\n Key experience required would be strong knowledge/understanding of motors, inverters and variable frequency drives (VFD's).\nExperience and knowledge of HSE regulations related to equipment maintenance and activities\nNOTE: All of our roles are subject to the below:\nEligibility to work in the UK\nA full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence allowing you to drive on UK roads\nNo unspent criminal convictions\nDue to manufacturing guidance and safety weight limits, our safety critical roles require an individual to weigh under 130kg .\nWe may close our roles early, depending on the number of applications received.\nCompensation\nDP World offers exciting and challenging roles within a growing international organization.
