Field Sales Manager - Ocean Freight

About the role

As Sales Manager Freight Forwarding, you will play a key role in growing our business by building meaningful customer relationships and identifying new opportunities in the market. You will work closely with colleagues across sales, operations, tender management, trade lanes, and business units to deliver logistics solutions that create value for customers.

This is a customer-facing role where your impact will be visible from the first conversation through to successful onboarding and long-term account growth. How you will contribute

• Identify, approach, and engage prospective customers to build a strong pipeline of business opportunities.
• Develop and grow a profitable portfolio of customers through new business acquisition and account expansion.
• Build trusted relationships with decision-makers and act as a long-term partner to customers.
• Present and promote freight forwarding solutions across Air, Ocean, and Road services.
• Lead commercial discussions, prepare proposals, and negotiate agreements that create value for both customers and the business.
• Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecast information within the CRM system.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer onboarding experience and successful service implementation.
• Act as the voice of the customer by sharing insights and feedback with internal stakeholders.
• Monitor customer satisfaction and identify opportunities to strengthen relationships and retention.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

What you will bring

• Experience in sales, business development, or account management within freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, or a related industry.
• Ability to build relationships, identify customer needs, and manage opportunities through to successful outcomes.
• Strong organisational skills with experience managing a sales pipeline and maintaining CRM data.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and with a variety of stakeholders.
• Experience selling multimodal transport solutions, including Air, Ocean, and Road freight services.
