Global Assistant Manager - Business Analyst (Maternity Cover)

Works closely with the DP World Business Intelligence team, operations and commercial staff in head office as well as terminal teams to gather, organize, validate, compare and present meaningful and accurate business insight to DP World management to improve the operational processes as well as better learn the behavior of our customer. The business analyst also assists in new business modeling and planning. Demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems; ability to search out solutions and approaches to problems associated with the delivery of information in a global port operator DP World and Group of companies; understanding of Port Terminal operating systems, applications and terminology

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Develops business intelligence solutions through knowledge of user needs, appropriate data repositories, business intelligence development best practices and innovative use of technologies and systems. Specifically, the incumbent will work on developing reporting and analytics solutions using SAP Business Objects, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.

• Delivers ad-hoc data and report requests, analyses data needs for both users and projects, investigates and analyses data discrepancies.

• Administers the analytics and reporting systems, monitors system performance, and creates and maintains user documentation.

• Provides system support to users in head office, regional offices and business units.

• Utilizes project management techniques for business intelligence projects and services.

• Continuous research on BI market updates, schedules and service strings and make sure that the latest BI best practices are applied and communicated with all users and stakeholders.

• Using knowledge of container operations Key Performance Indicators “KPIs”, analyse performance, identify trends, correlations and identify areas of improvement and create results by closely working with the regional team and business units.

• Creates content, Plans and Conducts training sessions for terminal user groups mostly overseas.

• Produces and circulate monthly newsletters among users and stakeholders including project highlights, updates, implementation progress, guidelines, BI news, etc.

• Understand and adhere to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies

• Perform other related duties as assigned such as business development modelling of new terminals and expansions.

• Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture;ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.

• 5 years’ experience in the analysis of business processes and interfaces including, but not limited to container terminal operations, terminal operating systems (Navis, OPUS, Zodiac, RBS, etc), interpreting system documentation, data and/or business process modelling, and data flow/context diagramming.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Business Intelligence reports (SAP or comparable BI applications).

• Excellent Analytical Skills.

• Proficiency with relational database concepts and report writing tools.

• Understanding of Container Terminal Planning and Operations processes, standards and procedures. Understanding on Operational and Commercial KPIs and definitions.

• Ability to work and communicate within multi-cultural and multi-national teams within DP World head office as well as DP World business units and regional offices around the world.

• Strong organizational skills. Competent with mainstream office automation, project management, presentation, and communications tools. Executes all job responsibilities and assignments promptly, reliably, and ethically.

• Flexible and adaptable, functions well as a team player in multi-cultural team, remains calm and cheerful under stressful conditions.

• Effective communication and reporting fluently in English language.
