The platform will handle payments securely, invoices, and financial data, and it will enable multi-currency and cross-border transactions for customers worldwide. Key components of the platform may include payment processing capabilities, integration with banking systems and payment gateways, robust security measures to protect sensitive financial information, reconciliation, and reporting and analytics tools for monitoring and analyzing transaction data. The payment system will follow strict security and governance standards and comply with GDPR and other data protection regulations across all operating countries.\nAs a SDE 2, you will be responsible for the software architecture across the foundational services portfolio. You will be deep in each of these products, standardize development practices, deployment procedures, prevent redundancies, and make architectural decisions for this portfolio. The ideal candidate would have built systems from the ground up, would have managed the architecture of a large product or platform.\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\nDesign, build, and scale standard-global payment solutions, including payment processing, invoicing, reconciliation, fraud detection, and smart routing that define the best route for each transaction.\nImplement security, data protection, and governance standards, including encryption, access control, audit logging, and compliance with GDPR and other regional regulations.\nDesign and build reporting and analytics that monitor transaction data, and standardize development practices, deployment procedures, and architecture across the Foundation Services portfolio.\nWrite high-quality distributed, and scalable system software. \nWork in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff. \nYou will be given the opportunity to autonomously deliver the technical SKILLS\nBasic qualifications\n\n6-8 years of professional experience in software development and design, with the ability to discuss in depth the design of systems and your significant contributions to one or more projects\nExperience building systems from the ground up, from design through production\nExperience managing the architecture of a large product or platform\nSolid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed system design, databases, and design patterns\nStrong coding skills in a modern language such as Java, Go, Python, or similar\nWorking knowledge of GDPR and data protection requirements in multi-country deployments\nExperience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and [Node.js / TypeScript] for backend services\nExperience with relational and NoSQL data stores such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis\nExperience with distributed system performance analysis and optimization\nExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments and with DevOps automation\nExposure to observability tools such as New Relic, Loki, or Datadog\nPreferred qualifications\nExperience in fintech, including building payment gateways or similar solutions\nExperience building identity verification, KYC, KYB, or compliance workflows\nExperience building reconciliation, fraud detection, or smart routing systems\nExperience with multi-currency, FX, or cross-border payments\nExperience with AML and sanctions screening regulations\nExperience applying machine learning, including NLP or deep learning, to fraud detection, risk scoring, or document processing for KYC/KYB\nExperience with geolocation and mapping APIs, which are relevant to logistics use cases\nExperience with analytics tools such as Power BI, Superset, or Metabase\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to engage colleagues proactively both inside and outside the team\nAbility to articulate technical challenges and
