We are looking for a highly motivated Health and Safety Intern to join our team. The intern will assist in promoting and ensuring a safe working environment by supporting the Health and Safety team in implementing safety programs, conducting audits, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. This role offers a hands-on learning opportunity for individuals interested in workplace safety, risk management, and regulatory compliance.\nIMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS\nLocation: Charlotte, NC\nHybrid role: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote\n10-week program: Summer 2027; May 31 to June 6\nDepartment: Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE)\nKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES\nAssist in conducting safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations\nSupport the team in developing, reviewing, and updating health and safety policies, procedures, and training materials\nHelp coordinate and facilitate safety training sessions for employees on topics such as proper use of equipment, emergency procedures, and hazard communication\nParticipate in incident investigations, helping to gather data and identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences\nAssist in maintaining accurate records of safety audits, training logs, incident reports, and safety performance metrics\nWork closely with different departments to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement\nResearch new safety regulations, best practices, and industry standards to ensure the company remains compliant with evolving health and safety laws\nParticipate in emergency response planning and drills, ensuring procedures are well communicated and practiced across the organization.\nQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field from an accredited university\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced environment\nProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)\nAbility to analyze data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations\nWhat You Will Gain\nPractical experience in health and safety operations within a corporate environment\nExposure to regulatory compliance, safety program implementation, and risk management practices\nOpportunities to contribute to meaningful safety initiatives that positively impact the organization\nProfessional development and networking opportunities within the health and safety industry\nPlease note: This position does not offer sponsorship for employment visas.
