Working pattern: Weekly rotation shifts: Week 1: 0600-1430hrs Week 2: 1400-2230hrs
About the Role:
As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day management of our warehouse operation, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and customer service standards are achieved. Leading a team of up to 30 colleagues, you will act as a key link between warehouse operatives and management, helping to create an engaged, high-performing, and safety-focused working environment. This role offers the opportunity to develop your people management skills while driving continuous improvement across the operation.
How you will contribute:
Lead, motivate, and support a team of warehouse operatives to achieve daily operational targets.
Organise workloads and allocate resources effectively to ensure productivity and service levels are maintained.
Conduct absence management activities, return-to-work meetings, investigations, and disciplinary processes in line with company procedures.
Monitor operational performance, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Maintain high standards of health and safety, quality, and compliance throughout the warehouse operation.
Coach and develop team members on warehouse processes, procedures, and best practices.
Liaise with colleagues across multiple departments to ensure operational requirements are met.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, service, and team performance.
Deputise for the Supervisor when required, providing leadership and operational support.
What you will bring:
Previous experience leading or supervising teams within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment.
Strong people management experience, including performance management, absence management, and employee engagement.
Good understanding of health and safety legislation, quality standards, and warehouse operational processes.
Experience conducting investigations and supporting disciplinary processes.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems and confidence using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Strong organisational and workload planning skills with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to build positive working relationships across teams and with customers.
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
