Along with job security, the tools to do the job and a competitive salary, you’ll receive fantastic benefits starting on day one, including never working on your birthday ever again!!!\nDPD is a Valuable 500 company and a Disability Confident Employer\n Purpose of Position\nThe ability to work efficiently within a fast paced and pressured environment to ensure that our yard operation runs as smoothly as possible.\nKey Task & Responsibilities\nThe safe movement of trailers/tugs through the confines of the yard in a safe responsible action.\nAdhering to yard Health and Safety procedures and regulations\nAnd ensuring training you have received is put in to practise whilst being an ambassador for yard safety.\nReporting any damage seen or that may have occurred during movements of trailers, this will include unsafe parking, speeding of all DPD employed drivers and 3rd party drivers, and general H&S aspects of the yard also reporting all near miss events to line manager.\nThe ability to work efficiently within a fast paced and pressured environment to ensure that our yard operation runs as smoothly as possible.\nEffective communication skills via radio and other forms of communication.\nAble to work jobs as allocated by C3 the yard management system. And ensure moves, Air suspension, Dock trailers etc are carried out effectively with minimal impact to the operation as possible.\nTo perform Yard checks where applicable on C3. Hold a Class 1 LGV Licence (C + E). There is a daily requirement to complete pre use checks on the tugging unit, which is recorded and retained.\nTo ensure that the correct PPE is used inline with the SSOW for the role being conducted.\nTo follow and adhere to the TUG Safe System Of Work. Report any defects ( tug / trailer ) - communicate with the BR so Datalive can be updated. Liaise with the VMU ( about the trailer defects ) and report back to the BR. Always follow safety guidelines regarding red/green lights ensuring we are compliant and the site is free from red light pull offs.\n What we’re looking for;\nThe ability to work efficiently within a fast paced and pressured environment to ensure that our yard operation runs as smoothly as possible\nHave experience in a similar position\nHold a Class 1 LGV Licence (C + E)\nA current driver CPC card \nDemonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Hard Caring and Accountability.\n Job Specifics\nIn this position you will be required to work night shifts across any 5 out of 7 days, which means you may be required to work weekends.\nA full UK driving licence and CPC card will be required for this role\nRemuneration\nYour package will include a competitive salary and you will also be entitled to a competitive bonus scheme that is based on individual and company targets.
