Success is not just about what we build, but who we build and how we build it: with integrity, enjoyment, uniqueness and an ever-forward mindset.\nJob Summary:\nResponsible for the development the creation of mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations throughout all phases of project design under close supervision. Assists in developing mechanical system designs and analytical models for heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), hydronic, piping, and mechanical equipment systems using basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards. Collaborates with engineers, designers, modelers, and external stakeholders to produce coordinated, high-quality design solutions within budget and schedule. Supports construction administration activities by reviewing submittals, responding to requests for information (RFIs), and participating in site visits as directed.\nKey Responsibilities:\nAssists in the production of mechanical drawings, specifications, and calculations during the project design lifecycle from conceptual design through construction documents under close supervision.\nSupports development of mechanical system designs, including HVAC distribution, piping layouts, and equipment selection, using basic knowledge of applicable codes and standards, while learning and applying company-wide standards and procedures.\nPerforms mechanical engineering calculations such as airflow, heating and cooling loads, pipe sizing, and pressure loss calculations with guidance from senior engineers.\nDemonstrates strong record keeping skills while supporting Supports construction administration activities, including review of shop drawings, responses to RFIs, and participation in site visits as assigned.\nUtilizes working knowledge of CAD and modeling software to create coordinated 2D drawings and 3D mechanical models.\nParticipates in internal and external coordination meetings to communicate progress and resolve design issues.\nEngages in professional development by identifying personal training needs and seeking knowledge from others and identifies opportunities for technical and process improvements.\nEducation Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required.\nWork Experience:\n4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering required.\nCertifications and Licenses:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required.\nNCEES record for licensure maintenance preferred.\nPlease note candidates who do not currently hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license will not be considered for this role.\nDPR Construction is a forward-thinking, self-performing general contractor specializing in technically complex and sustainable projects for the advanced technology, life sciences, healthcare, higher education and commercial markets.
