We treasure every talent, and recognize merit and diversity in our organization.\n Job Purpose\nTo ensure the reliable operation, calibration, troubleshooting, and automation support for all equipment-related instrumentation across the pharma manufacturing site, enabling compliant, safe, and uninterrupted production in line with cGMP, data integrity, and regulatory requirements.\nRoles & Responsibilities\n1. Equipment Instrumentation Management\nManage field instruments used in manufacturing equipment, including:RMG, FBD, Blenders, Tablet Press, Coaters\nEncapsulation & Softgel equipment\nDerma mixers, homogenizers, reactors\nPacking line instruments (sensors, cameras, checkweighers)\n\nEnsure continuous availability and performance of critical process instruments.\nMonitor and maintain transmitters, indicators, load cells, gauges, sensors, and control elements.\n2. Automation System Management\nSupport PLC / SCADA / HMI systems for process equipment.\nExecute modifications to logic, alarms, and interlocks under proper change control.\nEnsure automation systems comply with 21 CFR Part 11 and data integrity requirements.\nCoordinate with automation vendors for advanced troubleshooting and upgrades.\n3. Calibration & Compliance\nExecute calibration of all equipment instruments as per schedule.\nMaintain calibration labels, records, traceability certificates, and calibration history.\nInvestigate out-of-calibration (OOC) events and support impact assessment.\nEnsure compliance with cGMP, ALCOA+, GLP, and site QC/QA expectations.\n4. Breakdown, Preventive & Predictive Maintenance\nAttend equipment-related instrumentation breakdowns to minimize downtime.\nPerform preventive maintenance of instruments and automation panels.\nDiagnose and resolve issues like signal failures, drift, noise, and PLC communication faults.\nSupport predictive maintenance activities using trend data and failure history.\n5. Documentation & QMS Requirements\nMaintain and update:Calibration records\nInstrument history cards\nMaintenance and breakdown logs\nJob completion reports\n\nEnsure compliance with SOPs, deviations, CAPA, change control, and internal audit requirements.\nEnsure all documentation is accurate, contemporaneous, and audit-ready.\n6. Cross-Functional Coordination\nWork with Production to ensure equipment readiness and process continuity.\nCoordinate with QA for calibration approvals, deviations, and audit responses.\nSupport QC during instrument-related sampling/testing requirements.\nCollaborate with Engineering / Maintenance teams for utilities/equipment support.\n7. Safety, EHS & Good Engineering Practices\nFollow electrical safety, LOTO, PPE, and MSDS guidelines.\nEnsure safe working during instrumentation maintenance in GMP zones.\nMaintain 5S and housekeeping in instrument rooms, panels, and shopfloor areas.\n8. Audit & Inspection Support\nSupport internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.\nProvide instrumentation/automation documents and explain system controls.\nEnsure timely closure of audit observations related to instrumentation.\n9. Continuous Improvement & Digitalization\nDrive improvements to enhance instrument reliability, MTBF, and reduce failures.\nImplement Lean, Kaizen, TPM initiatives for equipment instrumentation.\nSupport digital data collection, dashboards, and automation enhancements\n Educational Qualification\n Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:Instrumentation Engineering\nElectronics & Instrumentation\nElectronics Engineering\nElectrical Engineering (with instrumentation exposure)\n\nCertification in PLC / SCADA / Automation is an added advantage.\nExperience\n3-7 years of experience in equipment instrumentation and automation in a pharma manufacturing site.\nHands-on work with field instruments, PLC/SCADA systems, and GMP documentation.\nExperience in regulated environments (US-FDA, EU-GMP, WHO-GMP) preferred.\nKey Skills & Competencies\nStrong knowledge of equipment instrumentation\nPLC/SCADA troubleshooting skills\nCalibration, maintenance & validation exposure\nUnderstanding of cGMP, data integrity & pharma processes\nGood documentation discipline\nProblem-solving & RCA (Root Cause Analysis) capability7\n About the Department\nGlobal Manufacturing Organisation (GMO)\nAt Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact on global healthcare through precision manufacturing and innovation.
