If safeguarding the systems that protect your family, friends, and community is the kind of work that matters to you, you are in the right place. \nAbout the Role: \nWe are looking for a Data Engineering Manager to lead the engineering teams responsible for the detection engines, alerting, and case-management backbone that turns raw OT/ICS telemetry into something a SOC analyst can act on, along with the pipeline that ingests, baselines, and serves network-communications data. You'll take on a data platform that's actively consolidating and modernizing its datastore footprint, with real room to help shape what that architecture looks like going forward. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of data-intensive systems, hands-on experience leading a team through a legacy-datastore migration, and a track record of championing AI-assisted engineering adoption.\nResponsibilities: \nLead and mentor a team of data engineers, driving their technical growth and professional development.\nDrive hiring and team growth to scale with roadmap demands.\nOwn the technical strategy for the data platform: database version upgrades, migrating off legacy datastores, and shaping what powers heavy analytics going forward.\nCollaborate with product and engineering to define data models, schemas, and analytics architecture.\nPlan migration and reindex timing with product for customer-operated, on-prem deployments.\nDrive performance optimization across the data platform these teams own.\nChampion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools and workflows.\nOwn production support for fielded deployments, including incident response.\nQualifications: \n7+ years of engineering management experience.\nManagement experience with Agile and working in cross-functional Product Teams.\nStrong technical background in data-intensive systems, including production experience with PostgreSQL at scale.\nPrior experience as an engineer with some combination of Elasticsearch, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Rust.\nDirect experience leading a team through migrating off a legacy datastore (MongoDB, MariaDB, or similar) into a modern architecture.\nExperience shipping software onto customer-managed or on-prem infrastructure.\nHands-on daily use of AI-assisted development tools.\nComfortable reading code and debugging production issues directly.\nCybersecurity, SOC, or OT/ICS domain exposure is a plus.\nCompensation: \nSalary: $220,000\nCompetitive Equity Package \nComprehensive Benefits Plan \n#LI-NH1 #LI-REMOTE \nDragos is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, orientation, national origin, age, disability, genetics, or any other basis forbidden under federal, state, or local laws.
