International\nDuties & Responsibilities\nOverall Responsibility\nIs responsible for operating packaging machines/equipment to achieve production goals efficiently whilst ensuring safety, quality and cost effectiveness.\nKey Accountabilities and Focus Areas\nFocus Area 1: Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free working environment\n· Adhere to SHP Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) standards in all daily activities.\n· Participate in safety observations, follow established safety processes, and report or escalate identified gaps.\n· Maintain 5S standards in the designated work area\n· Always adhere to safe working practices\n· Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), risk assessments, and safe work instructions.\n· Conduct pre-task safety checks before starting equipment or processes\n\nFocus Area 2: Manufacturing Excellence culture\n· Consistently follows Manufacturing Excellence (ME) pillar tools and standardized work processes.\n· Adhere to structured shift handover requirements to ensure operational continuity and information accuracy.\n· Maintain the Operator Workstation/area concept throughout the shift\n· Perform assigned Autonomous Maintenance tasks in accordance with established standards.\n· Take responsibility for basic equipment condition, inspection, cleaning, and lubrication activities.\n· Report equipment abnormalities and support restoration to basic conditions.\n· Support the continuous improvement culture\n· Drive manufacturing excellence pillars on the shopfloor\n\nFocus Area 3: Operations\n· Ensure efficient machine operation to meet packaging KPIs\n· Verify machine readiness before startup\n· Operate machinery per standard operating procedures, including startup, shutdown, and changeovers\n· Attend pre-shift meetings and conduct shift handovers\n· Maintain housekeeping standards in his/her area of operation\n· Provide performance feedback on equipment and material usage\n· Monitor and control the process, assist in the management of usages and waste on shift\n· Must be willing to assist with tasks outside of the normal scope of packaging\n· Participate in first line problem solving\n· Ensure SIC's are updated as per the required standard\n· Accountable for minimizing downtime, material losses, and ensuring product integrity through proactive monitoring and first-line problem solving\n\nFocus Area 4: Maintenance\n· Perform first-line maintenance and report machine faults\n· Perform autonomous maintenance\n· Follow standard safety procedures and asset care protocols\n\nFocus Area 5: Quality\n· Adhere to food safety related rules and activities as per factory instructions\n· Conduct quality checks on packaging processes in a timeous manner\n· Monitor quality parameters and ensure product standard is maintained\n· Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions\n\nMinimum Requirements\n· Matric Certificate (Maths & Physics)\n· Technical Courses (N3,N4,N5 or N6) will be added advantage\n· Minimum of 4 years' experience in an FMCG environment as a multi skilled operator\n· Must be willing to accept shift work hours, dictated by production schedules\n\nSkills and Competencies\n· Operate plant and process equipment\n· Carry out basic machine maintenance\n· Maintain a safe and healthy working environment\n· Wiling to work shifts assigned according to the schedule\n· Work in
