This is a fully remote position offering flexibility, professional growth, and the opportunity to make a real impact duringtaxseason.This is aseasonal, virtual, customer-facing role.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nMajorresponsibilities of theseasonal1040Full ServiceXpert position are listed below.To perform the job successfully, theindividualmustbeabletoexecuteeachessentialdutysatisfactorily.Reasonableaccommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPrepare, review, and e-file individual federal and state income tax returns (Form 1040 series) using our secure online platforms.\n\nInterviewclients using standardized forms and tools to gather complete andaccuratefinancial information.\n\nCommunicate directly with clients via secure video and audio platforms to review returns with clients, address questions, and obtain necessary authorizations (e.g., Form 8879 or state equivalents) for e-filing.\n\nRequest, organize, and manage tax documents, including sending and receiving Form 8879 (or state equivalents) and securely storing all relevant client documentation.\n\nFollow defined workflows and procedures to ensure returns are accurately prepared, reviewed, and filedin a timely manner.\n\nProvideexpert tax advice in plain, everyday language, explaining how tax laws apply to the client’s individual situation.\n\nResearch complex tax issues using trusted government and industry sources.\n\nEnsure compliance with IRS Circular 230, the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury regulations, and all relevant state and local laws.\n\nMaintain confidentiality of sensitive personal and financial data at all times.\nMay becross-trainedon other product linesin order tosupport other queues, as needed.\n\nAdditionaljob duties as needed.\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\nWho You Are\nA seasoned tax professional with:\n\n3+ years of paid experience preparing federal and state individual income tax returns.\n\nProven experience with e-filing processes and online tax software.\n\nStrong working knowledge of IRS Circular 230 and applicable state tax regulations.\n\nA skilled communicator who is:\n\nCustomer-focused and passionate about helping people.\n\nAble to deliver complex information clearly and compassionately.\n\nProfessional, friendly, and confident in remote client interactions.\n\nA reliable and detail-oriented team player who:\n\nFollows defined workflows and deadlines.\n\nWorks independently in a fast-paced, virtual environment.\n\nDemonstrates sound judgment, confidentiality, and integrity.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nActive, unrestricted Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA credential.\n\nActive PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number).\n\nMust be legally authorized to prepare and file taxes in any applicable state(s) whereexpertiseis claimed.\n\nProficiencywith commercial tax preparation software; TaxAct Professional experiencea plus.\n\nAccess to a private, quiet workspace with a hardwired, high-speed internet connection meeting company security standards.\n\nMust meet all licensing, certification, and bonding requirements applicable to your state of residence.\n\nMust have (or be willing to obtain) a private, dedicated hardwired internet connection.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting clients in a 100% remote environment.\n\nPrior use of TaxAct platforms.\n\nFamiliarity with client onboarding and digital documentation workflows.\n\nAt Taxwell, we believe our work benefits from the diverse perspectives of our employees.
