The senior electronic CAD designer plays a critical role in the development of designs for new or modified high-density printed wiring boards. Assists in the design and development of moderately complex and detailed layouts of printed wiring boards(PWBs).Job Description:\nDuties/Responsibilities\nAssists electrical engineers with the design and layout of electrical hardware, primarily printed wiring boards (PWBs), and is able to interpret and understand all basic design requirements.\n\nWorks on moderate to highly complex PWB designs and associated documentation.\n\nWorks with moderate to minimal oversight from senior technical personnel.\n\nRegularly provides feedback on the effectiveness of processes and work instructions to management.\n\nRegularly interfaces with DFM engineers to define and implement fabrication criteria ensuring manufacturability.\n\nAssist engineers with constraint editing and entry.\n\nRegularly works with multiple senior technical staff members on design projects.\n\nRequests management assistance when conflicting information is provided by team members.\n\nEffectively communicates project status and issues to management and members of the project team in oral or written form as requested for the project.\n\nPerforms other duties as assignments.\n\n Skills/Abilities\nDemonstrated ability to efficiently execute a project task and drive a layout project to\n\nGood oral and written communication skills.\n\nExcellent organizational skills.\n\nAbility to collect, organize, and capture design details in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.\n\nDetailed knowledge of Mentor Graphics DxDesigner, Expedition, and Expedition.\n\nAdvanced Packaging design tools required (VX).\n\nWorking knowledge of AutoCAD (2D), CAM350.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office products.\n\nFamiliarity with SolidWorks.\n\nFamiliarity with industry standards: IPC-7351, JEDEC-JP95, MIL-STD-1835.\n\nKnowledge of PWB assembly, PWB fabrication, hardware assembly, or hardware testing.\n\nAbility to follow processes and work instructions and adapt to new processes and work instructions quickly.\n\nEducation\nRequires an associate's degree or certificate from a two-year technical school in applicable discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills.\n\nFormal education in electronics or electrical circuit theory is preferred.\n\nExperience\n10+ years of experience in the field of PWB design or technical drafting with specific tools knowledge.\n\nExperience using advanced packaging layout techniques such as dynamic wire-bond, complex flex and 3D die stacking.\n\nAdditional Job Description:\nApplicants selected for this position will be required to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.\nConnect With Draper for Future Opportunities!
