This role provides independent assurance, process improvement, and engineering consultation to development teams to ensure software and model-based engineering products comply with customer, regulatory, and organizational requirements.The engineer partners with software developers, systems engineers, model developers, and program leadership to improve engineering effectiveness through risk-based quality practices, audits, metrics, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities may focus on software, model-based engineering, or both depending on program needs.\nJob Description:\nDuties/Responsibilities\nIndependently execute task assignments.\nDesigns algorithms using modern theory and proven techniques, adheres to software best practices.\nAnalyzes designs to demonstrate performance and functionality.\nDevelops and executes software tests to check compliance with requirements.\nPrepares technical data, procedures, reports, drawings, manuals, and other required documentation.\nCommunicates with customers and stakeholders to establish requirements and describe the design and deliverables.\nIndependently drive solutions to complex problems, develop requirements, propose ways forward when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements.\nAct as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their discipline.\nIdentify program/system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.\nLeads the design of system architecture, delegating tasks and collecting feedback on designs as needed.\nLead a medium size team of engineers across multiple disciplines.\nSkills/Abilities\nCuriosity-driven approach to solving complex, customer-driven problems as part of a multi-disciplinary team.\nDemonstrate an ability to learn new programming languages and technologies quickly.\nCollaborate and communicate effectively and openly with multi-disciplinary program team members, program leadership, and non-technical personnel.\nA team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to balance multiple competing tasks and demands.\nDemonstrate strong organization, planning, and time management skills to achieve program goals\nEducation\nRequires a bachelor's in Computer Science or other related field.
