In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining stock accuracy, supporting inventory processes, and ensuring our warehouse operations run efficiently.\nThis is a hands-on, warehouse-based role and not a desk-based position. You'll spend the majority of your time on the warehouse floor carrying out stock counts, investigating discrepancies, moving and handling stock, and supporting day-to-day inventory activities.\nIf you're highly organised, enjoy problem-solving, and have experience working within a warehouse environment, we'd love to hear from you.\nOur benefits\n22 days' annual leave, increasing with service (+ bank holidays) \nAnnual Leave Buy Scheme\nPrivate Medical Insurance\n5% Employer Pension Contribution\nLife Assurance\nEnhanced Company Sick Pay\nEnhanced Maternity and Paternity Leave\nApprenticeships and Professional Qualifications\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs an Inventory Control Operative, your key responsibilities will include:\nCarrying out daily cycle counts and processing any required re-checks\nTraining and coaching warehouse colleagues on cycle count processes\nSupporting periodic full-site stock counts and subsequent rechecks\nDetermining suitable stock locations using product velocity reports\nRelocating non-conforming stock using bin location reports\nSupporting the removal and investigation of damaged or non-conforming goods\nInvestigating and resolving warehouse stock discrepancies and customer shipping issues\nCarrying out stock rotations as requested by Product Managers\nWorking closely with warehouse teams to improve stock accuracy and operational efficiency\nWhat We're Looking For\nSkills & Experience:\nExperience of stock counting and inventory control processes\nKnowledge of warehouse operations, ideally within an electronics, distribution or FMCG environment\nStrong numerical and analytical skills\nExperience using ERP systems (SAP preferred)\nExperience using Warehouse Management Systems (HighJump preferred)\nGood understanding of Excel, including data analysis and reporting\nAwareness of the financial impact of stock accuracy and stock loss\nPersonal Attributes:\nSelf-motivated and resilient\nStrong attention to detail\nProcess-driven with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service\nExcellent communication skills with an open and collaborative approach\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team\nWhy Join CMS?\nAt CMS Distribution, our people are at the heart of everything we do.
