The role includes working closely with QA analysts, business partners, product owners and development teams to test and evaluate hardware and software to ensure compliance with requirements. Creates automated tests to ensure hardware and software meets user needs. Creates and logs software defects found while testing. Applies an analytical approach to job duties and has a willingness to be coached and mentored in higher level QA concepts.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of these essential functions at a satisfactorily level. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nApply defined QA processes to plan, design, implement, execute, evaluate, and report results of automated software and hardware testing.\nCollaborates on story writing, establishing acceptance criteria and associated automated test scripts.\nWorks closely with developers/business analysts on the team to create test cases that ensure comprehensive coverage of positive and negative test cases against requirements.\nCreates, executes, analyzes test results for accuracy and compliance for automated test suites, plans, and cases under guidance of senior team members.\nIdentifies or creates test data input based on specifications; determines output based on business rules. \nLogs issues and system bugs in test management tool with appropriate detail and severity level. \nParticipates in team or project meetings providing input based on QA best practice and procedure. \nAbility to adapt to changing projects and changing priorities.\nAbility to meet stated milestone dates and deadlines.\nAssist in set-up and maintenance of automated test lab and environments. \nReview and approves product documentation, test plans, etc. for technical accuracy.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned by Management.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES:\nThis role does not have supervisory responsibilities.\nHUMAN RELATIONS\nThis position interacts with both internal and external customers.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nEDUCATION PREFERRED: Bachelor’s degree, associate degree or trade school program graduate focusing on Computer Science, Data, Engineering or Management Information Systems.\nEXPERIENCE PREFERRED: 0 to 2 years in a quality assurance testing role or internship experience with a focus on technology systems.\nCERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED: Foundational level testing certification from ISTQB or similar organization.\nSkill Sets:\nKnowledge of the application(s) and/or data being tested. \nBasic hardware and software testing knowledge.\nMust be able to learn practical and theoretical automated testing techniques.\nBasic to intermediate proficiency in programming languages, test automation tools and frameworks.\nAsks questions and collaborates with others for change.\nAble to work under deadlines in a changing environment.\nStrong communication and troubleshooting skills.\nVontier is a $3B global industrial technology company focused on smarter transportation and mobility.
