The role also involves taking ownership of existing microservices, troubleshooting production issues, maintaining Kubernetes deployments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nTake ownership of 2–3 assigned microservices, including application controllers, BSS controllers, notification services, schedulers, and exporters.\nUnderstand, document, maintain, and improve existing business logic across microservices.\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance REST APIs.\nImplement Kafka producers and consumers for push and email notification pipelines.\nIntegrate applications with external systems, including BSS, ASM, ATG, FCM/Firebase, email systems, and Vault.\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established coding standards.\nConduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.\nDevelop and maintain unit, integration, and regression tests.\nMaintain Helm charts and Kubernetes deployment configurations.\nTroubleshoot production issues and support L3/L4 escalations for owned services.\nContribute to technical documentation, test strategies, deployment procedures, and architecture reviews.\nMentor junior developers and participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.\nMandatory Skills and Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.\n5+ years of professional backend software development experience.\nStrong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot for microservices development.\nStrong experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, and consumer groups.\nSolid knowledge of MySQL, complex queries, transactions, indexing, and performance optimization.\nHands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including pods, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and resource management.\nExperience designing and consuming REST APIs, including OpenAPI and Swagger documentation.\nUnderstanding of JWT, OAuth2, and token-based authentication and authorization.\nExperience integrating Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for push notifications.\nProficiency in Git and feature-branch workflows.\nExperience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or ArgoCD.\nHands-on experience with Helm charts.\nGood understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.\nGood-to-Have Skills\nExperience with Spring Cloud, Spring Batch, or Spring Scheduler.\nFamiliarity with HashiCorp Vault for secrets and certificate management.\nKnowledge of Strimzi Operator and Kafka on Kubernetes.\nExperience with Micrometer, Prometheus, and Grafana.\nFamiliarity with distributed tracing tools such as Jaeger or Zipkin.\nKnowledge of the Telecom domain, particularly BSS/OSS provisioning workflows and account management.\nExperience with ELK Stack, Loki, or APM tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, or Datadog.\nFamiliarity with Istio or Envoy service mesh technologies.\nExperience with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers.\nCKAD certification is an added advantage.\nPersonal Attributes\nStrong ownership, accountability, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team.\nComfortable working with geographically distributed teams across different cultures and time zones.\nDelivery-oriented mindset with the ability to meet strict deadlines.\nWillingness to learn, document, and take ownership of existing systems.\nWork Location and Reporting\nThis position is based in Mohali, India, and requires full-time, on-site presence on all working days.
