Our products are sold into the homecare, long-term care, retail, and e-commerce channels in more than 100 countries around the world.\n“Leading the World with Innovative Solutions that Enhance Lives”\nSummary (Major Purpose of the Role): Serve as a team member on site within the Engineering group providing embedded software design and development support for new and existing medical devices.\nMain Activities/Responsibilities:\nDocument all aspects of software development including requirements, specifications, architecture, software risk management, software development plans, V&V test plans, traceability matrices, test protocols, and test reports.\nParticipate in detailed cross-functional team design reviews.\nIntegrate and troubleshoot embedded software within hardware platforms.\nEnsure compliance with quality control policies and applicable regulatory standards.\nProvide support of various test, design, and manufacturing engineering activities as assigned.\nCompetencies:\nFamiliar with documentation associated with new product development.\nTeam-oriented and able to work in a multi-disciplinary creative environment.\nSelf-motivated and able to set personal and professional goals, and able to achieve these goals with minimal supervision.\nReporting Relationships and Supervision:\nThis position works under the guidance of the Manager, Engineering - Firmware.\nEducation and Experience:\nBS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with a career profile oriented to embedded system design and firmware development required.\n0-3 years of embedded firmware experience with C/C++\nExperience with development tools including emulators, logic-analyzers, and oscilloscopes.\nFamiliarity with development of medical devices in accordance with IEC 62304 SDLC and FDA regulatory requirements, preferred.\nFamiliarity with ARM Cortex-M architecture (STM32 preferred) is highly desired.\nFamiliarity with bare-metal development using state machine driven architecture is highly desired.\nWorking knowledge of real time operating systems such as Segger embOS or FreeRTOS, preferred.\nExperience with LCD GUI development using Segger emWin or other middleware libraries is preferred.\nExperience with I2C, SPI, USART, and USB communication preferred.\nFamiliar with wireless communication topologies and protocols.
