This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with experience in hazardous area inspections, electrical construction, maintenance, testing, and commissioning who thrive in challenging onshore and offshore environments.\nThe Role\nAs an Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and reliability of electrical and Ex-rated equipment and installations. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will carry out inspection, installation, testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.\nKey Responsibilities\nHazardous Area Inspection & Compliance\nConduct visual, close, and detailed Ex inspections in accordance with IEC 60079 standards and client requirements.\nVerify compliance of electrical equipment installed in hazardous areas.\nIdentify, record, and report defects, non-conformances, and corrective actions.\nReview equipment certification, Ex registers, drawings, and technical documentation.\nSupport hazardous area verification and compliance activities.\nElectrical Construction, Maintenance & Commissioning\nCarry out electrical and instrumentation installation, modification, maintenance, and repair activities.\nPerform testing, inspection, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of electrical systems.\nInterpret and work from electrical drawings, schematics, cable schedules, loop diagrams, and technical documentation.\nConduct site surveys and assist with material identification and project planning.\nProject Delivery\nComplete inspection reports, test records, certification packs, and project documentation accurately and on time.\nParticipate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, handovers, and client interactions.\nCollaborate with project teams to achieve quality, safety, and delivery objectives.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the sharing of technical best practice.\nWhat We're Looking For\nEssential Qualifications & Experience\nDiploma in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline\nMinimum 2-3 years' hands-on electrical experience within industrial, oil & gas, energy, or related sectors\nStrong experience in hazardous area installations, inspections, and maintenance\nCurrent CompEx Ex01-Ex04 certification or IECEx Units 001, 003, 004, 006, 007 & 008\nAbility to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings and documentation\nStrong communication and reporting skills\nDesirable\nBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering\nIRATA or other rope-access certification\nExperience working offshore, on international projects, fabrication yards, commissioning projects, or operating facilities.\nWhat You'll Bring\nStrong practical electrical troubleshooting and installation skills.\nA methodical approach to hazardous area inspections and compliance.\nCommitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence.\nGood organizational and time-management skills.\nConfidence working independently and as part of a team.\nProfessional attitude and customer-focused approach.\nAbility to work in demanding site environments and adapt to changing project requirements.\nHealth, Safety, Environment & Quality\nAt Dron & Dickson safety is our highest priority.
