We believe a strong trader can learn new products and strategies, so we place more weight on judgement, analytical ability and curiosity than on experience in a particular market.\nThe role\nYou’ll help identify, evaluate and execute trading opportunities, manage risk and develop ideas across equities and derivatives. The precise remit will reflect your strengths and evolve as you build experience.\nYour responsibilities will include:\nAnalysing market moves, positioning and catalysts to generate trading ideas.\nExecuting trades and managing positions within agreed risk limits.\nMonitoring exposures, performance and changing market conditions.\nDeveloping tools and research to improve trading decisions.\nWorking closely with the team to learn new products and strategies.\nYour background\nYou should currently be in a trading role, with fewer than five years’ professional experience. Relevant backgrounds include one or more of:\nSingle-stock volatility.\nDelta One or dividend trading.\nIndex volatility.\nExotic derivatives.\nDispersion strategies.\nEvent-driven or special situations strategies.\nIndex rebalancing.\nWe welcome candidates from banks, market makers and buy-side firms, including those working within specialist trading pods.\nWhat we’re looking for\nStrong numerical and analytical skills.\nSound risk judgement and a disciplined approach to trading.\nCuriosity about markets and a willingness to learn beyond your current specialism.\nThe ability to make clear decisions under pressure.\nOwnership of your work and an ability to collaborate effectively.\nCoding or data-analysis skills would be useful.\nYou don’t need experience across every area listed.
