DRW is a place of high expectations, integrity, innovation and a willingness to challenge consensus.\nDRW is actively seeking a Senior Linux Engineer for our Linux Engineering Team.\nThe Linux Engineering Team is responsible for providing a highly performant, scalable, and stable infrastructure that enables trading desks, developers, and our internal customers to run their applications as efficiently and deterministically as possible. If you have a strong belief in automation, consistency, scalability, and simple design, you’ll be right at home. \nWhat you’ll be working on:\nCollaborating with a global Linux Engineering team for coordinating work, engineering projects, changes, and on-call schedules \nServing as a liaison between the Linux Engineering team and various trading desks and teams \nConfiguring, deploying and maintaining DRW’s Linux environments in a declarative and repeatable manner \nActively monitoring the health of our entire Linux server environment; performing day to day troubleshooting \nApplication packaging and maintenance of software repositories \nAutomating repetitive system administration tasks \nEvaluating and recommending new hardware and software technologies or solutions \nYou will be an ideal member of the team if you have:\nExperience working with configuration management tools, ideally Ansible, Chef, or Puppet \nScripting and automation experience with one or more of the following: Bash, Python, or another high-level programming language \nExtensive Linux support and engineering experience in a large (10,000+ server) high availability environment \nStrong knowledge of Red Hat-based and Debian-based platforms (CentOS, Rocky, Alma, Oracle, Ubuntu)\nSolid understanding of protocols such as Kerberos, DNS, and DHCP, and applications like Kubernetes, VMware, and Openstack.\nPrevious experience tuning and debugging Linux systems for high performance, low latency trading applications\nA firm understanding of IP networking, routing, and multicast traffic \nThe annual base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and relevant skill set. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
