Internship opportunity for all Design students at our Packaging Design studio

Duration: 1-6 months

Location : DS Smith Design & Innovation, Tour&Taxis, Brussels, Belgium

DS Smith is opening the doors of its central Design & Innovation studio to welcome creative and curious conceptual design thinkers - our future leaders! Come and complete your internship alongside a multinational team of professionals in a relaxed and creative environment in the heart of Brussels. With sustainability & innovation at the center of your efforts, you will participate in a variety of high impact projects, aiming to evolve the packaging landscape via breakthrough innovation. Get ready to be challenged and hone your skills as you imagine, sketch, prototype, visualize and present your ideas. Learn valuable industry skills and teach us a thing or two as well.

About You:

• Conceptual design thinker with good visualisation skills;

• Curious mind that constantly try to find new ways of tackling challenges;

• Good skills in structural and/or graphical packaging design.

Principal accountabilities:

• Take part in ideation sessions, brainstorming, design sprints and other concept design activities;

• Act as design support for the project leads through hands on packaging design;

• Create visual media and presentation material for both internal and external audiences;

• Build virtual and physical prototypes for testing and validation;

• Merge structural & graphic design in new packaging concept.

Requirements:

• Industrial/product/packaging design graduate or graphic/digital media/interaction design graduate;

• Creative, visionary, and passionate to develop next generation packaging concepts;

• Good 2D & 3D visualization skills (sketching, 3D modelling…);

• Good graphic design skills (comfortable with Adobe CC modules);

• Hands on software experience (2D/3D CAD applications, visualization and illustration software (illustrator, photoshop, Rhinoceros, Cinema 4D,etc …);

• Bright, dynamic ‘can-do’ attitude;

• Good communicator, enthusiastic & flexible;

• Language skills: English, spoken and written (any additional language is beneficial).
