This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of logistics operations while delivering exceptional service to both internal and external customers.\nAs Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing deliveries, liaising with hauliers, supporting production and sales teams, and ensuring all logistics activities are completed accurately and efficiently. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment where communication, organisation, and attention to detail are essential.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nAs Logistics Coordinator, you will:\nCoordinate and manage daily logistics and delivery schedules.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with haulage providers and customers.\n\nAttend daily capacity meetings and communicate any potential issues or delivery risks to the business.\n\nMonitor all scheduled deliveries and proactively resolve any challenges.\n\nProvide outstanding customer service, ensuring communication is timely, accurate, and professional.\n\nEnsure all in-house logistics documentation is maintained, accurate, and presented in a standard format.\n\nProduce detailed daily handover reports for the Logistics Manager.\n\nWork closely with Sales, Production, Manufacturing, and Account Management teams to ensure seamless service delivery.\n\nEstablish a close working relationship with the Day Shift Manufacturing Manager.\n\nNotify Account Management teams of any booking, delivery, or scheduling issues at the earliest opportunity.\n\nMaintain accurate reporting methods for logistics performance, dispatch activity, and associated costs.\n\nManage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and service.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nWe're looking for someone who can demonstrate:\nExcellent telephone manner and customer service skills.\n\nStrong PC and administrative skills, including Microsoft Office applications.\n\nGood understanding of specifications and dimensions.\n\nExcellent organisational and time management abilities.\n\nAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.\n\nStrong geographical knowledge of UK locations and transport routes.\n\nFlexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and short-notice schedule amendments.\n\nAbility to perform effectively in a high-pressure environment.\n\nOutstanding communication and relationship-building skills.\n\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.\n\nA reliable, dependable, and proactive approach to work.\n\nBenefits\nCompetitive salary\n\n25 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\nPension scheme, life assurance and income protection\n\nEmployee Assistance Programme\n\nEmployee Discounts\n\nCycle to work scheme\n\nLocation: On Site - Ely\nHours: Monday - Friday - 09:00 - 1700\nContract: Perm\nAbout us\nWe are DS Smith, together with International Paper, we are a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and other fibre-based products.
