You will be working closely with your engineering colleagues, Operations, OEMs and vendors to develop and implement best practices and increase plant and asset reliability.\nThe role is hands on and fast paced, requiring you to carry out duties with respect to Preventative Maintenance schedules. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader / Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring any tasks carried out are completed to the best possible standard and in accordance with current regulations and company policy on health and safety, quality, hygiene, housekeeping delivery and cost.\nResponsibilities:\nEnsuring all maintenance activity meets quality standards with respect to workmanship, processes and procedures in order to deliver plant quality targets\nEnsuring that company procedures and effective controls are followed and implemented with respect to maintenance costs in order to deliver plant cost performance targets\nWorking on preventative and breakdown maintenance and feeding back reports\nEnsuring that any parts required are identified and sourced through the engineering Team Leader\nCarrying out dynamic risk assessments on all maintenance tasks undertaken\nControlling stocks of materials and consumables\nEnsuring you are familiar with all stop devices and procedures on any equipment in your charge\nBeing aware of the joint responsibility to keep all factory areas up to agreed standards\nThis is a Multi Skilled role\nTo be successful in this role you will need to be a fully qualified multi-skilled maintenance technician, accredited to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or BTEC.\nIdeally have both Mechanical and Electrical training and qualifications to support this and 18th Edition wiring regulations.\nYou should have experience of PPM implementation, delivery and control with a demonstrable background in a maintenance environment.\nOther essential attributes include good working knowledge of continuous improvement/operational training excellence such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing and Root Cause Problem Solving techniques and experience gained within a fast paced, multi-shift manufacturing environment.\nWhat we can offer you:\nCompetitive salary\nQualifying Sick Pay scheme\nPension scheme & Life insurance\nShare Save scheme\nIncome Protection\n25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays\nEmployee Assistance Programme\nVirtual GP, Occupational Health & free Flu vaccine\nCycle to Work and shopping discounts\nWe are DS Smith, together with International Paper, we are a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions and other fibre-based products.
