Read more at www.dsv.com\nLocation: USA - Fort Wayne, 5801 Adams Center Rd\nDivision: Solutions\nJob Posting Title: Driver - Multiple Shifts Available - 131082\nTime Type: Full Time\nPOSITION SUMMARY\nUnder the direction of the shift supervisor and/or the shift team leader, the CDL Shuttle Driver will be responsible for operating a semi-tractor trailer vehicle for the loading and delivery of products to/from the plant to the warehouse in a manner consistent with all safety, quality, and operational work instructions.\nWe are currently hiring Drivers for all shifts. Available schedules include:\nA-Shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM)\nB-Shift (Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM-10:30 PM)\nC-Shift (Monday-Thursday, 8:00 PM-6:30 AM)\nD-Shift (Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-4:30 PM)\nE-Shift (Thursday-Sunday, 6:00 PM-4:30 AM)\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nResponsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the customer needs.\n\nResponsible for accounting for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles.\n\nMust function and interact on a daily basis with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.\n\nMust communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations, and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.\n\nMust maneuver trucks into loading and unloading position, following signal from loading crew as needed. Also place safety wheel chocks in front of wheel/tire to prevent the trailer from rolling. If pup trailer movement is involved; extra care must be taken on the placement of the trailer jack stand (when at dock, jack stand must be on the ground and in a locked position). If there is not a jack stand installed on the trailer the customer must be notified.\n\nProper use of Airline/Electrical hookup/and Backing procedure is a must.\n\nFollow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.\n\nPerform other job-related duties as assigned.\n\nOn a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.\n\nAssist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard\n\nReceiving/Put-Away:\nUnload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Input data accurately into WMS.\n\nEfficiently stack and store product in appropriate area.\n\nMaintain an organized work area.\n\nOrder Picking:\nPull and prepare for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.\n\nPerform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.\n\nPrepare freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner as required.\n\nQuality:\nEnsure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.\n\nReport quality variances\n\nDelivery:\nEfficiently moves product form staging and/or storage to production lines and/or staging docks.\n\nProper documentation must accompany freight.\n\nInventory:\nKeep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.\n\nAssist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.\n\nSafety, Housekeeping, and Compliance:\nMaintain a clean, neat, orderly work area, and assist in security of the warehouse\n\nWill comply with all Standard Operating Procedures, corporate and site-specific policies, safety rules, and OSHA/ MSDS Standards.\n\nParticipates in safety meetings.\n\nEquipment Operation:\nLoad, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment.\n\nMaintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.\n\nOn a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.\n\nOperate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods.\n\nAssociates must maintain an active forklift certification.\n\nMaintenance:\nPerform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.\n\nOTHER DUTIES\nChange fuel tanks on forklifts as needed: participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed\n\nRepair pallets, when necessary, trailers, and truck bays as requested.\n\nHelp maintain the facility to provide a clean, safe work environment.\n\nPerforms other duties as required.\n\nWork overtime as dictated by business whether mandatory or voluntary.\n\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nNone\n\nMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and/or Experience\nMust have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).\n\n6 months experience working in a logistics/distribution/relevant environment.\n\nAble to operate MHE\n\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations\nSatisfactory completion of a forklift training program\n\nOther\nMust be able to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during the warmer and colder months can range from mild to moderate.\n\nFor this position, the expected base pay range is $27.00 - $27.00 annually.
