As an Inventory Planner, you will play a key role in ensuring materials are available when needed, supporting customer operations while driving inventory efficiency and continuous improvement.\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys analysing data, solving problems, working with cross-functional stakeholders, and making a measurable impact on operational performance.\nWhat You'll Do\n\nAs an Inventory Planner, you will be responsible for balancing inventory availability with operational and financial targets. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, engineering teams, buyers, warehouse colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure materials are available to support business requirements.\nKey responsibilities include:\n\nAnalyse replenishment and inventory data to support material planning decisions.\nGenerate and review ERP and Excel-based reports to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.\nCreate, review, and process purchase requisitions and material demand requirements.\nManage inventory levels by aligning forecast demand with available, ordered, and in-transit stock.\nAct as a key point of contact for customers regarding forecasting, reorder points, inventory levels, shortages, backorders, and material changes.\nWork closely with engineers, buyers, commodity managers, and suppliers to review demand forecasts and material requirements.\nCoordinate material returns, repairs, and supplier communications with warehouse and shipping teams.\nProactively identify and communicate material shortages that could impact operations or customer service.\nSupport cycle counting and physical inventory activities to maintain inventory accuracy.\nInvestigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.\nMaintain accurate material and master data within ERP systems, including BOMs and inventory records.\nSupport material quality initiatives and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.\nIdentify inventory optimisation projects that drive cost savings and process efficiencies.\nWhat You'll Bring\n\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, with at least two years of professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nIndustry experience in supply chain, inventory, planning, purchasing, or a related function.\nExperience working with ERP systems.\nIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, and data analysis.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong organisational skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nCustomer-focused mindset with the ability to build effective relationships across teams.\nPreferred Experience\n\nInventory or materials planning experience within a manufacturing environment.\nExperience supporting semiconductor, high-tech, or advanced manufacturing operations.\nKnowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and materials management principles.\nWhat can we offer you?\n\nCompetitive Salary Package and an opportunity to be a part of and grow within a driven and successful company, with a team of 160,000, operating in over 90 countries.\nIn addition, we can offer access to a selection of employee benefits, such as:\nEnhanced Annual Leave Entitlement from your start, which increases with length of service.\nSalary Sacrifice Cycle Scheme\nEmployee counselling, for support with physical and mental wellbeing\nCompany Pension, which, when a member of, also provides access to Life Cover and Critical Illness cover\nNext Steps\n\nIf this sounds like the next step for you, please follow the links and apply with your CV without delay!\nPlease be aware that all successful candidates will undergo necessary right-to-work checks and certain sites require 5-years’ worth of referencing and background checks.\nWe do not accept CV details from Recruitment Agencies unless DSV have engaged directly regarding the role requirements beforehand.\nDSV - Global transport and logistics\nWorking at DSV means playing in a different league.\nAs a global leader in transport and logistics, we have been on an extraordinary journey of growth.
