Locally, reporting into the Regional Customs Director.The Customs Manager provides on-site support, expertise, and knowledge ensuring local alliance with Customs business activities. They lead their DSV Customs Brokerage team in alignment with Customs regulations and DSV Customs Compliance mandates to achieve minimal risk.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nProvide training and development opportunities to the customs team to enhance their knowledge and skills.\nMonitor volume and type of business conducted.\nMonitor reject rate for the various customs transactions relative to overall volume. \nEnsure brokerage employees have current editions of CBP regulations, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States, and CBP issuances. \nPerform audits and reviews of the customs transactions handled.\nMonitor and ensure timeliness of processing entries and payment of duty, tax, or other debt or obligation owing to the Government for which the broker is responsible, or for which the broker has received payment from a client. \nEnsure proper and timely responsiveness and action to communications, direction, and notices from CBP. \nConduct Customs entry audits and compliance reviews to assess adherence to regulations and internal procedures.\nMaintain documents required under 19 CFR 163.\nOptimize customs processes to enhance efficiency and minimize customs clearance delays.\nManage partnership with customs authorities and clients.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and compliance with customs requirements.\nEnforce the Brokerage Recognition of Achievements and Growth program locally.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in international trade, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.\nU.S. Customs Brokerage License\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in customs operations, including management and customs compliance responsibilities.\nSkills & Competencies\nIn-depth understanding of Customs regulations, import requirements, and international trade practices.\nProven leadership and people management skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nProficiency in customs valuation and classification methodologies.\nKnowledge of customs automation systems and software.\nFamiliarity with customs audits and compliance assessments.\nExperience with ACE Secure Data Portal\nLanguage skills\nFluent in English (oral and written)\nComputer Literacy\nProficient in using customs management software and tools.\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).\nAbility to quickly learn and adapt to new software and technology platforms used in customs operations and management.\nAt Will Employment\nDSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as “at will” employees.
