SAP Complex Release Coordinator

The SAP Complex Release Coordinator is responsible for coordinating complex, cross-project SAP releases within Finance IT, where multiple projects, SAP applications, integrations, transports, and go-live activities have dependencies or overlapping timelines. The role is ideal for an experienced SAP professional who wants to leverage their SAP expertise in a broader coordination capacity, focusing on release management, change coordination, and cross-project planning rather than day-to-day defect resolution or enhancement delivery. Working across solutions including SAP S/4HANA, MDG, BW/4HANA, SAC, GRDC, and related integration platforms. Acting as a central coordination point, the SAP Complex Release Coordinator works closely with project teams, architects, technical experts, and business stakeholders to ensure successful and well-controlled releases.

What you'll do:

• Identify and coordinate complex or cross-project SAP release windows

• Maintain a consolidated view of projects, release scope, transports, integrations, dependencies and key milestones

• Identify, document and actively follow up on technical and cross-project dependencies

• Coordinate dependency discussions between SAP S/4HANA, MDG, BW/4HANA, SAC, GRDC and related systems

• Identify release conflicts, sequencing constraints and potential risks and coordinate their resolution

• Coordinate integrated cut-over plans, including sequencing, timing, dependencies, downtime and support requirements

• Track release readiness across projects, including testing, approvals, CHG status, transport readiness and rollback plans

• Ensure unresolved dependencies and risks are escalated to the appropriate technical or project owner

• Support go/no-go alignment and coordination during critical or weekend releases

• Capture actions, decisions, risks and lessons learned

• Support Release Management with complete and timely information for complex releases

• Maintain release calendars, dependency trackers, readiness overviews and coordination templates

• Ensure alignment with SAP Release Management and Finance IT processes

• Identify recurring issues and contribute to continuous improvement of release coordination

What we're looking for:

• Several years of proven experience working with complex SAP landscapes and SAP project deliveries

• Experience in SAP Release Management, Release Coordination, Delivery Coordination or a similar role is a plus

• Strong understanding of SAP release and transport processes

• Practical experience with SAP environments such as: SAP S/4HANA, MDG, BW/4HANA, SAC, GRDC and related integrations

• Experience identifying and managing technical dependencies across SAP projects and systems

• Good understanding of the SAP delivery lifecycle from build and testing through release, go-live and hypercare

• Ability to understand technical discussions, challenge assumptions and involve the right technical experts when required

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Experience with ServiceNow CHG and/or SAP release management tools such as ChaRM is an advantage

• Structured, detail-oriented, proactive and pragmatic approach to managing complex and time-critical situations

• Analytical, structured and technically curious

• Able to challenge and escalate when required while maintaining good relationships

• Able to balance governance and process with pragmatic business delivery

• Persistent in following up on actions and unresolved dependencies
