The role provides support to the Cluster Head of Air & Sea, MENA, as well as country finance teams and country management, by delivering clear, objective, and insightful analysis of daily business matters. Through performance monitoring and financial insights, the Senior Business Controller helps guide operational decision-making and supports the achievement of business objectives. The selected candidate will be based in Dubai, UAE.\nReporting Line:\nReport to: Manager\nDirect subordinates: No\nDetailed Responsibilities:\nSupport function to the Cluster MENA Head for Air & Sea, Country Managing Directors, and Country Finance teams.\nPrepare and present the internal reporting (management accounts based on SAP SAC and TMS reports) to business and provide detailed comments on the main events that occurred during the month. (variance analysis)\nAnalyze the site/branch/product results and propose different initiatives to improve profitability and productivity.\nOrganize, support and guide the target process with local finance and business. Prepare the P&L budget based on the SAP SAC tools.\nReconcile targets and forecasts in AFO against final country submissions and RtR inputs to ensure consistency and accuracy across systems.\nSupport local finance with rolling forecasts and then report to Group or Cluster / Regional Management.\nAnalyse and improve the different processes regarding the estimations of the work in progress (run off’s), unbilled work in progress, cost centre reporting, functional area and overall gross profit\nMonitor and report on global KPIs for A&S to ensure compliance with key controls and support continuous improvement.\nReconcile the billing data from the Transportation Management System (TMS) with the financial records in SAP/CW1 (or other finance systems) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper revenue recognition.\nFollow up the evolution of the gross profit in terms of volumes/margin and deliver a forecast for month end and verify the Gross Profit number.\nPrepare and present reports to local finance/business like - sales reports, client profitability/returns, product reports and daily GP dashboards.\nBe the point of contact between the Regional Shared Service Centre and Operations/Country finance.\nEnsure the SAP Controlling structure (cost centres) is validated by local finance and business and update this in the relevant systems.\nAnalyse and report on staff costs (detailed review) and FTE’s.\nParticipate in the Local Management meetings representing the RSSC Controlling team.\nEnsure that the different financial processes are respected locally not only by the Finance employees but also by Operations.\nAssist with the Group and Local Statutory audits (IFRS) by providing local relevant information requested by the auditors.\nSupport in preparing and presenting special reporting required by business/local finance. (Board presentations/business cases/ROIC)\nFacilitate finance training for business.\nAd-hoc duties as and when required.\nCommunication:\nInternal - Regional Shared Service Center, Group Finance, DSV network offices, Operations and Management teams (Regional, Cluster and Country) and local CFO.\nExternal - Clients, DSV vendors, External Auditors.\nQualifications & Characteristics:\nMinimum of 3 years’ experience in a business controlling/financial manager role.\nMinimum 2 years’ experience in a shared services finance environment dealing with controlling, finance and credit functions.\nMinimum 2 years’ experience in operational finance management function in the Air & Sea environment.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong analytical skills.\nAbility to indirectly supervise and influence other department employees.\nMust be controls and process focused.\nMust be able to work well under pressure and deliver on deadlines.\nGood understanding of financial statements, balance sheet recons and reports.\nMust be a team player.\nMust possess good time management skills.\nAbility to work long hours of overtime when necessary.\nSelf-starter who will use own initiative.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nHave a creative and problem-solving approach.\nIndividuals must be able to deal with various managerial levels within the company.\nMust possess effective communication skills.\nDSV - Global Transport and Logistics\nWhat moves you?\nAt DSV, we move more than goods.
