Additionally, this role will actively support the creation, validation, and use of tools and standards for both the department and DSV organization. All activities shall be completed with strict DSV organizational requirements for Safety, Quality, and Financial responsibility.\nFor new or expanding business, the Senior Industrial Engineer core focus is to validate customer requirements, create the overall solution, and implement the owned tasks associated with the solution. The engineer is to provide feedback to the Project Manager for the project on estimated time, status, escalation, and scope changes regarding their assigned tasks within the DSV standard project delivery approach.\nFor warehouse consolidation, relocation, or new real estate projects, the Senior Industrial Engineer will be responsible for collecting and collating all customer requirements for those to be relocated including but not limited to electrical, data, IT equipment, MHE, storage, automation, and any regulatory or security certifications and requirements. Successful candidates will be natural self-starters.\n** Expected travel range: 50% **\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nLead the design, development, and implementation of warehouse and distribution center solutions including facility layouts, operational processes, and equipment selection.\nAnalyze and optimize operational workflows, including inbound, putaway, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and value-added services (VAS), to ensure efficient and scalable execution.\nDefine facility, process, and equipment requirements and gain stakeholder alignment on final solution designs.\nSupport design and implementation of warehouse technologies and distribution systems, including WMS or other related operational platforms, to maximize performance and operational effectiveness.\nDevelop detailed implementation plans, schedules, and task lists to support successful project delivery in partnership with Project Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.\nIdentify, evaluate, and procure capital equipment and other required assets to support operational start-up and long-term business objectives.\nManage vendor, supplier, contractor, and customer relationships throughout project execution.\nSupport the implementation and integration of automation and material handling solutions within distribution and fulfillment operations as a part of the overall engineering design.\nEnsure all solutions comply with applicable customer requirements, safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.\nCoordinate multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving successful project outcomes.\nDevelop and deliver project updates, business cases, presentations, and recommendations to leadership, customers, and executive stakeholders.\nCollaborate with operations, engineering, IT, construction, and external partners to ensure successful project execution and operational readiness.\nMonitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative supply chain solutions to continuously improve operational performance and design standards.\nSupport project activities within warehouse and construction environments, including travel, site assessments, commissioning, testing, and operational launches.\nTravel as required to support project implementations, customer engagements, and business initiatives. \nPerform additional duties and special projects related to operational improvements, new business implementations, network expansions, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nRequired Skills\nEducation and/or Experience \nFour-year degree is basic requirement (Industrial Engineering preferred)\nMinimum of 6 years in the Logistics/Supply Chain Industry \nMinimum of 4 years’ experience in warehousing solution implementation and design\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations \nNone required\nComputer Skills \nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Vizio, and use of Teams / SharePoint\nAutoCAD LT \nKnowledge of WMS functional processes\nKnowledge of LMS, TMS, YMS (nice to have) \nLanguage Skills\nEnglish (reading, writing, verbal), Spanish a plus \nInterpersonal communication and language skills (e.g., listening to others, speaking to others, reading, writing). \nCommunication (facilitation skills and very mature communication skills to be able to communicate to all levels in the organization).\nStrong writing skills with experience documenting design methodologies to create logistics solutions and responses to RFPs.\nPreferred Qualifications \nExperience dealing with end users, vendors, and clients.\nExperience in 3PL environment\nSix Sigma / Lean Certifications (a plus)\nDiverse solution experience for multiple different business channels including but not limited to Consumer Products, Retail, Manufacturing Support, and E-commerce. \nExperience with various size and scope complexity projects from a design and implementation standpoint for warehouse solutions. \nExperience in warehouse automation applications (Pick to Light, Goods to Person, Automated Sortation, AMR, AGV, conveyor design, etc.)\nExperience supporting BRD (business requirements document) creation, holistic detailed design, procurement, and vendor management for project implementations. \nSupervisory Responsibilities\nAs Assigned: management of vendors completing work tasks for the project. \nMay Be: identified to support onboarding of peers. \nOther Physical Requirements:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear.
