This position supervises a team of ocean import freight forwarders and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nManage the day-to-day operations of the ocean import department\n\nEnsure compliance with customs regulations and company policies\n\nSupervise a team of ocean import freight forwarders\n\nCommunicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments\n\nResolve issues related to customs, documentation, and shipment delays\n\nCoordinate with the ocean carrier, trucking companies, and other service providers\n\nEnsure accurate and timely data entry into the company's transportation management system\n\nProvide guidance and training to team members on import regulations and procedures\n\nPrepare reports and metrics related to import operations\n\nEducational background / Work experience\nA bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.\n\nCandidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in ocean import operations, including experience in a supervisory role.\n\nSkills & Competencies\nIn-depth knowledge of import regulations and customs procedures\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks\n\nAttention to detail and accuracy\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nProficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems\n\nFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes\nSupervisory Responsibilities (if any)\nThis position will supervise a team of ocean import coordinators.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCertified Customs Specialist (CCS) or Certified Customs Broker (CCB) designation\n\nExperience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems\n\nKnowledge of import regulations and procedures for other transportation modes (air, land)\n\nLanguage skills\nFluent in English (oral and written)\n\nComputer Literacy\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems is required.\n\nExperience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning systems may be preferred.\n\nAt Will Employment\nDSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefined period of time as “at will” employees.
